Do you have any pics of your grow? I'm about to switch to h and g soon for flower. You think I should have more roots for this size plant?image.jpgimage.jpg

Yes that plant should have a fuck ton more roots than that for it's size. You've got some rot I can see and your plants are starving because of it. I know I make it sound bad but that's only because it is. I'm just a sterile guy though Green, I don't know what else to tell ya. When it comes to teas and beneficials I'm dumb.

Have you tried SM-90? It kills anaerobic organisms but doesn't harm your beneficials which are aerobic. Lot's of people use it and love it, may just be perfect for you to use in conjunction to your EWC teas.

Has anyone else experienced problems with heavy 16 in an ebb and grow. From the very beginning I used heavy grow a and b, prime, roots excel, and great white. Started getting crazy ph up problems where my ph would shoot to 7.2 overnight. I tried using airstones and tried just recirc pumps. Finally I am at the point where I am just using the a and b but still getting ph rising. Had a bad bit of root rot so I look in my buckets and see a bunch of brown/red globules floating around. Figured it was algae and started to use heisenburgs tea. I want to go back to using the full lineup and was wondering what people would suggest. Thinking of using pool shock continually through the rest of this grow instead of tea because if I keep using the tea I can't use prime because its a microbe feed. Any thoughts?
Ph usually is unstable if your res is too small.

if you spend a couple extra bucks advanced nutrients makes a ph perfect line which works great in hydro, its not set and forget by any means but it def helps maintain ph consistency around 5.8-6.0

yeah the stuff I have is pretty much ph perfect. The ph is good now and the double dose of roots excel literally blew my shit out. Ill be posting pics cause I only did it for 2 rows and the other two rows I didn't. There's a noticable difference in root growth. Rez being to small is something I considered but ruled out now that ph is stable. It was definitely the fact that I was feeding bad bacteria and didn't have a base of good bacteria to fend them off.

Did some research and comunicating with heavy and there hole line is revamped and made more clean...
and they have added a few new things to the line up. Seems they are taking steps to better there product.

Shitty thing is your not going to be able to correct the swing! Your ph is rising due to bacteria activity in your res
hense the reason your getting slime!

Using good bennys to combat the bad will help but if you continue to add heavy your just spinning your wheels
with no resolve.
Try some aqua shield for your root rot, I've had great success with it myself. And like hellraizer stated anything you add to fighht those Benny's would basically be detrimental to what your trying to accomplish IMHO.

A buddy of mine started using the whole HG lineup and he really likes it, did have some ph fluctuation problems but I figured out it was the heat and water evaporation; easy enough. Also how long are you watering for?

I'm going to stick with h16 and just continue using the tea. I wonder if I add the prime in which is a microbe feed if that will fuck up my ph again. I've been having insane root growth lately and the roots are all white and what not. About to flip in a week or two. Gonna go with h16 nutes for the rest of the grow.

I'll snap a few pics next round to show you what they look like. I run 4 plants per 1000 watt light and 8 oz is my average dry weight of manicured flowers not counting "popcorn & larf". My last run was with Chem4, some of those were at least 10oz trees.

I can only imagine what would be possible in those 5 gal ebb monster buckets.

dude my roots are getting massive. Going to take a pic tonight. Adding roots excel with heis tea has exploded my root growth and in just a week I went from that pic to a solid block of roots in the bottom part.

So what are you doing different than when you started this thread? In your first post you said you were using Roots Excel and Great White. Were you adding the GW straight to the rez or using it to brew a tea first?
