Why wouldn't you consider it ethical? I mean, we try to help companies where they wont get hacked and have their information stolen. Granted we could use it to our advantage if we wanted, but most ethical hackers don't. Kinda hard to get work doing it if you abuse your power.Hmm.. Interesting! I don't *personally* consider it ethical per-say, but I can totally see why that would be a definite plus from an employer POV. And even though I don't think it's ethical, I don't think the vast majority of the business world is very ethical and I'm all for those guys that breach various sketchy website security measures and let them know... which I guess would be considered ethical hackers.
It's also like working in the security field. You have access to every bit of information on everyone's computer, "kinda like Snowden" but then you have to use your judgement and figure out if it is right to expose it or better to just keep your head down and keep your job. I don't really know what I would do if I was in Snowden's place, but, we do have to have a high level of clearance to work in this field.
