Ok, to make up for that hijack :) Working on my new round, started strapping them down last night.

Skywalker kush:

14.jpg
The one at the top left is Kolossus, a clone. Really nice and bushy clone.

The two at the bottom right are Skywalker Kush (fan leaves pushed down)

The other three (1 bottom left and 2 top right) are Chocolate Fondue.

As you can see the CF at the top right had some problems. Well, actually just one problem, I accidentally sprayed on it with the sprayer next to it and it doesn't like the nutes solution as foilar spray :eyesmoke: It'll catch up, the new growth is fine. Actually, these pics are 20 hours old, hold on a sec...

New pic, 20 hours later than photo above:
15.jpg

The force is strong in the Skywalker Kush plants - as corny as that sounds, they are strong and vital. Just strapped the one in the front in the middle down some more, same on as in photos above, just 20 hours later (colors unreal because I filtered out HPS) :

Lol, let's be friends! Haha, yeah we are familiar with the media demonizing growers here as well. And I have my own friendly vision of these "Grow Gangs," but I'm sure its very difficult to get the truth out there.

I'd love to figure out how to get strains out there, getting pollen out there is easy, but to get an original would be the difficult part. I'm sure I could just flood customs with multiple packages week after week, but a raw cut can only stay preserved in a pure co2 environment for about 10 days before it starts to wilt.

Frysia sounds like a great place for someone like me trying to get into the dutch scene. I became very interested in Frisian when I was in English 101, and we covered it as part of our final. It is basically a dutch-modified old English, and while old English isn't even recognizable to the modern English speaker, it seems the key is to learn the pronunciation of the alphabet, and the cute little letters they've added in. lol.

Also, those people need to learn to choose a pad by how noticeable the panel tap would be. People say it's wrong, but fuck the power company, they stuff their pockets with a grossly unfair rate. I feel about as bad about doing that as I would stealing oil from Chevron. But I don't tap my panel, it's not even a possibility in this home, which is why I give the advice as choose your grow by the panel, if you're going to do that.

Thin Mint does give that beautiful chocolate mint odor. But it does have a tendency to self, however, that's what other people say. I'm a fucking boss, lol, if something herms on me it's because it was going to do it, despite any amount of stress. As soon as I know she is stable in my arms I'll hit her with some silver, but what I really want to do is fly the f over there and open a shop. Best damn coffee, best damn hash, ridiculously priced clones; hell yeah nukka.

Oh I hear ya. Problem is that occasionally they catch some real criminal grows, the shoot-at-people kind of criminals and after they show those on the news it's pretty much impossible to get the truth out there, especially from the old hippies telling it  Here's one of the few remaining activist, major supplier of Purple Power decades ago when outdoor weed was still on every menu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQJUp0zSIvY (in dutch, but he mentions the same thing though. We have very mild laws/penalties so those grow gangs come from all over the world and I can assure you they aren't all that friendly).

I've been having dreams of a single plant in an a small Iglo cooler with a small PC fan, traveling across the ocean. Think Wall-E  Some pollen from a Tiresias Mist-ed GSC would be awesome already, I could chuck that on some stable strain here and hunt for some connoisseur chocolate/cheese/sugar/blueberry/vanilla-cookies :hump:

but what I really want to do is fly the f over there and open a shop.
Coffeeshops are being closed not opened. :( The number in Amsterdam even is being heavily reduced. 26 on the RL district this summer, 44 more in A'dam alone next year. Going from 220 to 150. Other cities have a much smaller limited number of coffeeshop 'permits' available (some as little as 1). Which are only issued under very strict conditions and after a background check. Waiting lists for those permits are long, permits are non-transferable, there's no free-market when it comes to coffeeshops. Coffeeshop owners are not allowed to have a connection to mj growing (like owning a growshop, growing their own weed, selling clones). It takes very little to retract a permit. It's THE thing that genuinely pisses me off most about our policies, not being able to start a coffeeshop (I think several times a week "that would be a great building for a coffeeshop"). That's why quality isn't always what it should be, once you got a permit you got customers (because it's based on customers, i.e. if other shops get too busy they think a year or two about increasing the permit limit), so hardly any real competition. A'dam being a special case of course, with so many packed, but even then with 70 closing, the rest will have more customers than they need.

ridiculously priced clones
Nearly 20 years ago I walked across the street with a box filled with Orange Bud and Top 44 clones which I just bought at a growshop. Normal back then (just as having some clones in your backyard or on a balcony, not like I have been growing for 20 years...), but the trade in clones has been outlawed for years. Obviously there's still a lot of clone trading going on but all this government opposition does have a negative effect on pretty much everything regarding MJ. Hence my initial comment, in the slight chance it becomes legal as in a free market, "then" there's some serious serious money to make simply by making an effort to compete already.

Day sumthin' :eyesmoke:

a.jpg - after a bind session and pushing down major fan leaves, which are already bigger than my hand.

To compare, this was 3 days ago:
LST-ed to the max:
b.jpg - pic's a day older than the first above.

The clone at the left in the back is hands down the bushiest mj plant I've ever seen, kinda hard to show on a photo in this stage:
21.jpg

The Chocolate Fondue in the center at the back and front left are responding very well to the LST-ing.

Going to veg 5-7 more days, which yes I know means it'll be full again and I'll have to do some serious pruning, especially from the Chocolate Fondue and Kolossus.

I'm using Tiresias Mist on a branch of the SK in the front in the middle and I had to wait till it was mature en large enough and still have a window for spraying TM roughly a week before switching to 12/12 (hence the long vegging again). Will probably chuck some of that pollen on the CF in the back in the middle or the Kolossus at the top left depending on how they flower. Just testing the product for fun, so no serious selection going on. These three have the least problems with higher rez temps (less DO, effectively like overwatering) and seem most happy in general. The SK I'm going to grow balls on has an 8-finger leave instead of 9 and 10-finger instead of 11. Codename L8N8, meaning Late Nacht, which is half english half dutch for "Late Night" (8 in dutch is pronounced like the 'acht' in 'nacht' which means night). Yes, of course I was high when I came up with that one :bigjoint:

Sativied my DNA Og x Skunk are finishing up nicely. Not sure if you remember me not being such a happy camper with them early in flowering. They seem to really pack on weight in the very last 2 weeks. I just hope the smoke, taste and high are there!

Peace

Looking good budolskie. Do you clone straight in a DWC cloner? What's in the solution? I just started making clones, just to get some experience with it, worked out nicely with rockwool and clonex but I'm looking for a faster method. I can't find a local supplier for the neoprene insert, what are those spongy thingies you use?

but yes just sponges for house and ph water at 6.5 with the air stone on 24/7 and just in my veg room they have been my quickest and healthiest looking clones so far

Hey F.M.I.L.Y, that's good to hear. I'm probably getting a little biased but so far I think I made a great choice for the Tiresias Mist test, the SK is clearly better able to deal with higher rez temps (SK1 in pic, at peek rez temp of 73 degrees, just before lights go out).

During a binding session (i.o.w. in some pics only some plants just tied down, others about to)

Sounds good, I look forward to it. I was thinking of building an aerocloner, like PetFlora has in his threads in hydro forum, but I want to minimize transplant stress when I move them to the larger setup with flooded tubes where the roots are submerged 24/7 as well. Using a small DWC to preveg for the same reason, so it would make sense to use it for rooting clones as well.

Hey, nicely done man. Straightforward and clear yet I do have a few question: how deep do they go under water or do they just enter at the surface of bubbles? The clone gel+powder, doesn't it wash off entirely after a few minutes in those bubbles?

They go about half inch under water little gap between the water and sponges I dip the cut in powder then just squirt a bit gel in the water, I have only used it once and has by far been my best way with cuts so far I will keep you's updated with pics as they progress

I wont be around for a couple of days, but here is my quick update. I put a nice 6ft fencing around my lady, she will grow through it for support during Flowering. The bitch in front of her is going to be SCRoG'd. I am using the same fencing stuff to make a Screen probably 4' x 6'. Other than that not much going on, plants look like they are going to flower soon, seeing lots of pistils, seems a little early but we shall see.

Looks great FM! Looks like the Og 18 x Skunk will fatten up quite a bit more once those calyxes start swelling up some more.

@budolskie: thanks, definitely going to give it a try in the future. Going to start next round from my own seed hopefully, but from all of those I'm going to take clones and select the best one(s) to cross some more, maybe with itself.

Before binding session (colors a bit weird from filtering out HPS-yellow)

After:

I'm very happy with the SK so far, healthy and happy plants (some of those bottom fan leaves have weights hanging on them to keep them down else they'd push the rest upwards).

Kolossus is doing her own thing. Which is why she is in the closet, stable and reliable strain from ditto breeder.

The Chocolate Fondue, however, man I'm glad I don't have 6 of those... The one in the center in the back is doing 'ok', not great, but good enough and I assume will go better once I switched to 600watt (made huge diff in overall happiness of plants last 2 rounds). The CF in the back on the right sucks. I'll make some separate pics of it soon. It's weak, nute def and overfert signs at the same time. Velvet-like leaves, little weak/thin/light. The CF in the front on the left is not doing great either. Just doesn't 'feel' right.

The main downside of growing (such) different strains with a single rez of the same nute solution is that I end up overfeeding some and underfeeding others.

5th day of Tiresias Mist today, switching to 12/12 before the weekend. I disturbed the plants too often last round, I think that added to the slow transition to flowering. Hoping to see pistils on at least the SK after 7-10 days 12/12.

Yeah, picked them up from the DNA Genetics store in A'dam. I want to try a different breeder each cycle for a while, figured I kill two birds by getting an RP strain as well. Why, any insight on RP and their strains?
