I usually post it to imgur first then copy the bb code and paste it here;

If it's from a URL, then just uncheck the box that allows it to retrieve remote files. That has always solved it for me.

That's what I used to do but sunni had detailed a way to actually resize pictures with various options IIRC. I tried to search for it but of course the search function is broken.

The problem with unchecking the box is that if the website that you are linking to pulls the picture, it will go away here too.

All you need to do is double click on the picture to get to the image settings screen. I thought I tried to do that as well as right click, but I guess I didn't.
