First Grow- a couple of questions

Planting Lowryder2 , growing in soil in pots. Is a gallon size pot for each plant going to be big enough? Next question- what is the ideal ph for the soil, and, is it safe to use white vinegar or baking soda to adjust the ph? Thanks to whoever will help. :)

Pot size will depend on what you're doing: 12/12 from seed will be fine, but vegging for months will likely run you out of room.

Soil pH should be around 6.5 to 7, so fairly neutral. As for baking soda and such, you're better of adding dolomitic lime to the soil. The vinegar and baking soda are hard to control, and more likely to result in salt build up.

Good luck and happy growing!

I would go for 2 gal minimum, or even better 3 gal pots if you have the room. The more room the better for roots, and the foot print isn't too large with either. If you place those pots together, you will have about 12" between the plants, which is tight for a growing plant. You'll want at least that spacing between plants. Go with the 2 or 3 gal pots, your plants will be glad you did.:peace:

^^I agree!

The few times I have run auto's (free beans from attitude).
I ran them in 3gal pots and they did very well (for auto's that is).
I think they would have not done as well in a smaller pot.
So I would suggest 2-3gal pots also.

And I say PH everything that goes in to 6.5. I know some say you don't need to in soil, I sy that depends on your individual water supply. PHing everything before it goes in has helped me a ton. I add 2T of dolomite to each gal of my soil mix and it has keptthe soil neutral as well. But nutes and diff water can make ph wild and better to control it.

1 gallon equals 1 month is the old saying , so really a 3 gallon pot would be the best or at least i would say.
