How to deal with Thrips?

Hello all

i had an outbreak of thrips (little white/yellowish worms that leave little white/rust colored spots and move like worms)on a few of my plants and i cant seem to get rid of them. Sand on the soil hasnt worked nor neem oil. (recommended fixes promised to work at the local hydro store)
Does anyone have a good way for me to kill these little fuckers? I have 3 months left of grow rights and i wanna get some good meds saved up before i lose them. PLEASE HELP

What I am calling thrips, is a small insect. crawl on the leaves, make yellow spot with clusters of little black spots in the yellowed area. Tend to crawl from top too bottom of the leaves when you look for them

Azamax is weak. Only get neem from http://www.neemresource.com/ theirs is 3x concentrated compared to the chinese stuff that Dynagro and other hydro strore compaines make.

Azamax is fantastic. Prevention is key in growing friends. Azamax drench the soil and spray the plants every 10-12 days. We never have issues with pests.

Yes prevention is the key! but Azamax isn't needed for the price tag. My gardens are healthy. Get a bottle of Ahimsa Alternative Neem that will last twice and long. That is the real deal import direct from India. Neem cake in soil does wonders. Don't get me started on the benefits of other stuff like crab shell too.

I used captain jacks dead bug (spinosad) and it worked. caution: spray either while lights are out or just before they go out. spray and rinse thru the pots both. and third do it every 24-72 hours for a full week and don't be afraid in day 5 when you see some still. it takes some time and re-application because they keep hatching if they laid a shit load of eggs.

Yeah man thrips are those fast moving crawlers and if you have clusters of black dots that Thrip shit... I never battled them I just killed off the clones they clones they came in.

Capt Jacks is my go to since it's easily sourced at many home improvement stores and nurseries. Get the concentrate not the spray so you can control the amount applied.

Ok so i can use Spinosad AND Heavy duty Neen in conjunction??? ( Just dont want to mix stuff that will create a toxic fume or anything. )
Also i read a few times to saturate the soil with NEem or Spinosad, which will work best, or both?? Full concentration or solution of neen/spino???

Yes you can use both. Apply after sunset if outdoor and after lights off indoor for best results. Neem breaks down in the light as Spinosad doesn't. You want to foliar with both completely plant, branches, and spray the topsoil.

Use the recommend for both but for spinosad you can use a little more since it's a bacteria for serious issues. Get some neemcake for a topdress at 10% for you soil. A nice layer. If you have a proper balance you won't ever see the bad guys. Don't worry Hydra you will get through this. I've assisted many friends before with success through my advice.

Fresh garlic is great and so is cilantro, mint, lavender, cinnamon etc. If you guys ever read the back of those fancy bottles they will list the active and non active/inert ingredients. Compare those to what you have available at the grocery store lol.

The dynagro neem is old stick with the stuff from neemresource like that karanja oil there. That's all you need.

So treep you do Veganics soil...but how do you reuse it infinitely?? and can i do the same with old super soil?

I don't do veganics that is out of my league. Bird is into that maybe he can chime in. There is a thread about that in the organics section if interested.

I build my soil from scratch so I'm in control of what goes in. I used to reamend commercial potting soil but that stuff is garbage and same with Subs super soil. Started a recycle project last year after removing SS from my garden and starting from scratch. Get yourself some books on horticulture and farming and steer clear of NPK thinking in the living soil paradigm.

You got to put in a little study to understand but it's real easy from there. Hope this helps buddy.

thrips thrive in low humidity as well. 40% or less is when I had my time with em.

I raised my rh. added a few extra fans for circulation and hit em with spinosad a couple of times. Haven't seen em since. (knock wood)
