Downside to use smaller pots?

Beside that it will be smaller ,are there any main problems to have plants veg and flower in 5L / 1.5gal pots?

Not really. Smaller plant = less yield. More frequent waterings. That's really all I can think of. N besides the rootbound risk if u grow them to long

I have a perpetual grow that averages 8-10 oz. cured/month. I average 22-26 grams per plant cured as I grow them fast and hot. I put rooted clones in 3-quart pots for 3-4 weeks to veg at 20/4. I TP into final pots that are either 6 or 7 quarts. I use a lot of nutes in the daily nute-watering (hot) and jam them under a 1000W bulb to flower for 5-6 weeks (fast). I understand I could increase my yield with larger pots and more time vegging and flowering. But experience and a lot of experimenting has shown me that my hot and fast methods best suit my interests. Good luck, BigSteve.
