a unified voice

Hey everybody....I know most of you, and most of you know me. We have all ended up here because of a common bond. I know some of us, now I'm not going to name names....have gotten into some fairly heated arguments lol.

In spite of any debates or arguments, we are all here, pretty much as a family, because we love out pot, and we do not understand why the laws are so ridicilously biased against pot.

I've seen rollitup.org grow alot since I've arrived, and I know most of you witnessed it's growing pains too.

Now I havent smoked at all, yet for today, and maybe I should have smoked prior to writing this, but you all can add to this when I'm done, my thoughts are this.....as we grow, we have a voice, a loud voice. All of us are suppose to be of voting age here too.

I was thinking we should band together in some form, be it a letter that we all sign, or individual emails sent to our congressman?

I just think that our continued hiding is not the way to go, there is progress being made everday with the laws, and another loud voice, might just help to speed up the process.

It actually could be pretty cool to walk into your local A&P supermarket and while you are picking up some tomato and cucumber seeds, you could also buy some haze or whatever rocks your boat.

What are your thoughts on getting together and forming some sort of unified voice?
Peace

Yeah, living near a school changes everything. I am kinda lucky, in new york, it's just a ticket if you have an oz or so. Of course I have more, so off to jail I would go too.
Trust me though, I do not have an alterior motive, I am just like you and almost everyone else here, I am not trying to "sell you" anything. When there was a liquor probition back in the time, you can rest assured the Kennedys did not want it to end, and the same holds true today, there are people who want things to stay just the way they are. If the law is going to be changed, we can not remain silent anymore.

If you have ever seen the documentary called Grass narrated by Woody Harrelson, the guy who got president roosevelt to criminalize marijuana had a stick up his ass from the start. He had a problem from marijuana ever since it was brought over here from immigrants. The full movie is available at Marijuana.com | Your Source For All Things Marijuana near the bottom. Some of the governments propaganda slogans are preposterous and complete bullshit. They all start out with "if you smoke it..." and end it with some made up crap to brainwash the general public such as "you will become a heroin addict" "you will go insane" "you WILL kill people"

And we all wonder why so many other people are so against marijuana. Its all because of how the government lied to us and pelted us with propaganda. Marijuana is truly a misunderstood substance.

But I seriously advise you to watch that documentary, its really interesting. You won't believe how much the government lied to us.

Come on videoman, give a thread some time to settle in. Rollitup is a huge site. Maybe you should have entitled it 'free sex here'.

We all feel it videoman, we really do. The free cannabis alliance actually have an online petition you can sign, and I'm sure a couple of the other organisations do too.

What is needed is a war.

Graffitti artists would make excellent pawns. Advertising bill boards sprayed with pro cannabis slogans an excellent start. I could think of lots more ways of attracting media coverage. It needs to be a world-wide movement. Maybe in every major city in the world all on the same day. hit hard, hit proud, hit extravagantly!

My thoughts are that you have to educate the non users that Mary Jane is not a evil addictive drug. Get the stats out that no one has died from it or no one goes on a killing spree from using it. Let people no the benefits of it, until you change peoples mind set it will be a uphill battle.

you are exactly right on, at our monthly norml meetings in fl last week we were discussing that very issue to a few non users, you ever see a prostitute selling ass for a $20 bag of pot? HELLLL NOOOO!. what needs to be done is everyone here that is able needs to join there local chapter of norml if there is one in your area. that way more ppl will be reached. just my 2cents!

"oh great spirit, let me not judge another until i have walked a mile in his moccasins"

If marijuana was actually legal, imagine this:

Your working on a machine at work, and you break it and injure other co-workers. The authorities give you a drug test and find marijuana in your system. Although the last time you lit up a joint was 2 weeks ago. Would you be arrested?

It isn't also that its intoxicating, its that it stays in the system for a long time and fucks with the results. So a small mistake at work could get a careless man who smoked a joint 2 weeks before in a court hearing. This is partly why alcohol is legal because it clears out of the system within 8 hours.

So if marijuana WAS in fact legal, there would still be the many complications like that one that can still get you thrown in jail. It'd still be the shit if it were legalized.

One thing in this thread makes sense. You have to let the non smokers know what the benefits are. Soo... what could be the benefit to them. One of the main reasons why you will have trouble getting a lot of people on board is fear of reprisal. I don't really want the cops knocking on my door. That is the reason I beleive it must be done by ballot initiative. 22 States have them. If your looking for some ideas you might try looking thru the thread... We need to stand up and fight. I don't know how to cut and past so this is the best I can do. VV
PS Video... about the mushrooms??

Dude, sorry to rain on your statements but.....it sounds like you are desperately reaching. I do believe testing could show with reasonable certainty how long ago you injested it.

Also, the fact that alcohol clears out of your system quicker than pot, had nothing what-so-ever to do with the legalization of alcohol.

You would of course face the same penalties, if you did something under the influence of pot, just like if you drive drunk, ar arrived at work drunk. You could/should face the same penalties for doing so.

The other side of the coin is that the government would stand to make a small fortune on taxes. Just not from you, or myself, as we would most likely still grow it.

Exactly, videoman's right. Everything suggested (except my own) has/is already being done. Yet more education isn't going to do anything, likewise yet another petition.

Softly, softly doesn't work. We need to capture the public's imagination, bring it to the news. People watching our efforts as they eat their meals. Discussing it. We need to get people talking, tv shows will air live debates... radio talk shows...

I suggest a propaganda war, almost subliminal in it's evolution. We want it freed, then we've got to let them know.
