Did this just happen? If so thats like the 3rd mega grow bust in eastvale recently. I just cant imagine blowing up a major grow with stolen electricity and not expecting to get busted. PG&E is a business and when you fuck with their dollars theyll eventually come lookin

Electrical theft always brings detectives to whatever house the theft is taking place and the first thing in the detectives minds will be , "This is a marijuana grow op".
These type of growers will never learn that they are better off in the long run by paying for what they use. I mean if you are in a MMJ state like California and you are using $10,000 a month in power but you are paying for what you use like an honorable customer, the power company reps are going to know what's going on but they know that if they contact the cops that it will put an end to that timely $10,000 bill being paid. Now that viewpoint would most likely be different in a non-MMJ state, but still, I see paying for what you use as the safer method even if it is a high bill.
The chance of getting busted is a lot slimmer by paying for what you use versus stealing the power. Stealing power is a guaranteed method for getting raided, it's just a matter of time before the detectives come.
Even if I were a cash cropper and grew in a non-MMJ state that's hard on marijuana grow cases like Florida for example, instead of running a lot of lights in a single grow house, I'd have 2 or 3 grow houses to spread out the heavy power usage, but I would still PAY MY BILL on whatever I used. The chances of staying in the cash cropper business longer is greater by paying for the power you use.

People got away with it for so long that they just can't go back to paying for power. Stupid...
That used to be the safest way to grow, now it's the easiest way to get busted.

I don't know what Florida is like, but in Cali with PGE as long as you pay your bill on time they won't say shit no matter how big your bill is. They used to turn in growers which is why everyone started stealing power in the first place. They decided they were better off just getting all that money and so now they leave growers alone as long as they pay on time. Very sensible IMO.
Not to mention that power companies can tell how much power is going to an area...and reference to how much is getting paid. If they see any kind of discrepency they are going to go check it out. And they will ALWAYS find you. That's the reason for smart meters and everything else...they know whats going on with their grid in very fine detail.

Eastvale is one of the areas that got hit hard when the housing bubble burst. There are lots of empty and cheap houses.

I read that approximately 8% of Californias energy usage was for growing weed indoors, I dont know how accurate that estimate is..but thats staggering if it is anywhere near that.
