Deficiency! Could I be doing better? Healthy looking plants

Yeah thats what I think also. I was worrying about that earlier in the grow but I wasn't sure about separating the root ball. Plus wasn't able to buy three separate units. The tallest plant has started budding all over while the other two are still growing pistils. I am doing a res change every five days now to make sure the nute ratios don't get out of whack but thats making it more costly. Tomorrow, I am planning on increasing the ppms. Its at 625 now so I could add another tsp of tiger bloom and cal-mag. Lets see...

Yeah lessoned learned. Luckily yes! All three of them are girls. Today the two shorter plants look like they have started to take off again. One is growing out towards the sides while the other one is growing vertically. I will post some pictures soon.

Is it too late to take clones off one of the two shorter plants? The horizontal growth is making it hard for me to provide light so I instead of getting more popcorn buds I was thinking of maybe removing those branches (they are pretty tall)? That would allow more energy to go to the other buds right?

Well come to think of it, I don't think I have enough time to clone them and flower again. I'll be moving in june...

Are you growing any strains now?

You should be able to clone the lower branches. Might take a lil longer to re veg. More energy in the top buds. I'm growing LA Cheese, Sour Kush, Skywalker Kush.

Doubt I will have enough time to complete the cycle. I may just remove the lower branches for the sake of improving the other buds. Is it better to remove them one at a time or all at once? There about 3-4 branches and they don't seem as strong as the others so I am sure the buds won't be dense. I don't want to hermie them either.

That sounds awesome. Do you have a journal going? I would love to see some pics.

You have better chances of a hermie if the light cycle is interrupted. You could cut them all or just one. I don't have a journal but ill throw up some pics. I too grow 3 at a time and am shooting for 12-16 oz.

Man I would love it if I got 12-16 ozs thats awesome! I hope it comes through for ya. Yes, please do share some pics. How about if I tie the lower branches up or like LST them towards the lights. From a yield standpoint that should help right? Plus the support of the string will should allow the buds to grow denser right?

Any sort of training will help as long as the light is sufficient. If you ever switch to HID lighting and your environment is perfect you can get a gram per watt. Don't get me wrong CFLs are great and the low heat is much desired, but faster growth and enormous colas is worth the extra hassle IMO. They also seem to finish faster. Some growers can pull a Lb. from a single plant under a 1K hps.
I'm not trying to sell you on HID as every man goes with whatever works for them.

I agree, I am planning on upgrading my lighting for my next grow. Just need to come across the funds first. Thanks for that video I am going to tie string to my lower branches and try to train them towards the cfls. Hopefully, that improves the yield. I am also planning on raising my ppms up to 900-1K. Only problem is I am still not sure about the ratio of nutes to use. Got any advice on that?

They are looking amazing and are frosty too! Great job growing them. My grow looks like nothing in comparison lol. Indeed they look very healthy I hope I acquire the skills to grow like that. Did you fim, top, and lst them?

Also what did you use in terms of nutes?

Wish you had a journal going I would've loved to learn how you got to this point.

Well thank you. Topped once at 4 weeks. I just keep it clean and simple. General Hydro flora series AB+C with some KoolBloom mid flower. Nothing fancy. I happened to be blessed with tap water that registers at 30ppm, so a little cal-mag here and there. Once you learn how to read and recognize a plant's needs off of how she looks then its even easier and stress free growing. That comes with time and a few grows under the belt. Also Great genetics are essential for Great bud. Get some fem seeds from a breeder that has the kind of Nugs that you like.

I will look into GH Flora series for my next grow, I don't think FF is for me. That is true I am in the process of learning but it is very hard to be certain especially when they share the res. I have tried to raise the ppms up and it is now at 785 with 140 from my tap. I am not sure if raising the ppm caused the tips of the leaves on top of the plant to brown or its another issue but I noticed it this morning. Its been 3.9 weeks since the 12/12 switch. The buds are growing on the tallest female and its getting frosty around those areas but they haven't swelled at all. I have to buy a microscope to inspect the trichomes when I get closer to harvest.

Here is the progress. Is something still wrong? Please advice, they look deficient to me but why would the tips of plants burn when I increased the ppms. FF suggests feeding a higher Micro rate then I have been giving them but I don't know if adding more Big Bloom would help. I would like to increase their ppms bc I feel the tallest plant that budding requires it; however, I am not sure if doing so will make them better or worse...

I'd say give it some Calmag. That shits like a miracle nute. If you're doing DWC I think you're fine with 3 in there. It's a bit small though, so I'd definitely consider either changing to 2 plants next time, or use a bigger res.

I already have cal-mag plus in the res at 3-4 tsps for the 6 gal. Also 2 tsps of FF Grow Big so there is a good bit of N. Could the cal-mag be locking out the Potassium due to the cal and N? How do I figure it out? FF Grow Big has an N-P-K of 3-2-6 and FF Tiger Bloom has an N-P-K of 2-8-4. So should I add more of the GB even tho that will increase the N?

I don't think adding more Grow big will do it. I've given my plants quite a bit of calmag before and they haven't had any problems, and that much doesn't sound like it would hurt it.

Hmm, what makes you think it is a cal-mag issue? I have been giving them cal-mag for the last 2.5 weeks and I also have 1/2 tsp of epsom salt in the res. Are you saying I may need more cal-mag?

Don't be to liberal with Cal mag. Too much calcium in the system will lock out magnesium.

How the plants going? You might wanna use a different nute line,, preferable dyna-gro or botanicare. I'm using botanicare KIND series which hasn't even come out yet.. suppose to be the most advanced nutrients ever.. You can't even buy this shit yet. These two brands don't have much ph shift and it's an ideal for me,, been vegging a tomotoe plant for practice before I go all out on my first cannabis grow op but the tomotoe is blowing up in my home made dwc... I wanna master this art before i touch a cannabis plant. I was going to get the SH bubbleponic system and I made a much better one for myself saving alot of money. I would also get an HID .. At least a 400w. I got one with a Reflector for $50 on craiaglists.. My tomotoe is just blowing up. (The HID will show growth over night)
