Optimum pH Levels for MMJ:

Hydro 5.6- 6.3
Soil 5.8-6.5

pg 151 has the hydro pH range for various elements (on this page it says 'acceptable range is 5.6- 6.4, but optimum is 5.8-62

I need to raise mine a tad

I think I'm the only person left who doesn't really care about ph numbers. I don't use a digital meter, just the good old fashioned ph test solution in a vile. I aim for a nice yellow-orange color for my coco, which falls in the 5-6 range. keeping it old school.

Ambient, Rez temps and RH probably all play a roll
Thats My Thinking Also Brother PetFlora.I Also Belive The Health Of Your Roots Plays A Major Roll Also.

I tried to get online on my phone @ work last night to try and find one of those charts that shows the availablity of each nute at different levels... and got caught off guard by this:

""I follow and highly recommend the following parameters for hydroponic nutrient solutions for aeroponic, “bubblers”, drip, ebb and flow, NFT, passive, rockwool and wick systems.

PH 5.1-5.9 (5.2 optimal)
TDS 500-1000ppm, EC .75-1.5
Temperature 68-78f, 20-25c (75f, 24c optimal)

The pH of the nutrient solution is a major determinant of nutrient uptake by the plant. If the pH wanders outside the optimum range of between pH 5.1 and pH 5.9, then nutritional deficiency and/or toxicity problems can occur... For hydroponic nutrient solutions used with inert media, keep the pH at 5.2 for optimal elemental uptake... ""

Okay...

No.

This is not right, and never will be right, maybe the range is CLOSE ENOUGH that iyou wont get any lockouts from your more popular macro nutes- but 5.1 is not even in the soil range.

THIS WAS THE FIRST RESULT IN GOOGLE...on 420 MAGAZINE!!!!! Are you shittin' me???>

I have read SEVERAL paperback books stating 5.8-6.3, for any system of hydroponics

And several books have stated 5.5-6.5, for soil. (I cant confirm this one with exp.)

PLEASE malevolence, dawg, someone!! confirm or deny with me! Testify against these 420 wannabes!

I believe it was brother dawg who also told me that he noticed that Sativa/Sat dominant strains seem to enjoy a higher range- I cant seem to get my ph to hold, but I see this to be true when I CAN get it to stick to 6.3, even 6.5 for a while

EDIT: and this guy is BEING PRAISED!!! Pucking christ... and 2 posts. Good for you, dumbass.

Brother Scotch That pH Range Might Work For His Style Of Growing. But As A Rule Of Thumb Those Numbers Are Very Low And When I Didnt Adjust My pH Up From 5.20ish on Sally G-13 P.E. And My G-13 Gigabud They Went Into An Amonia Dump Causing My pH To Drop To 2.50ish In A Few Hours.

i currently am having the same issues with my hempy PH using dyna gro, they're all fine but id just love for it to be dialed in more.. i was talking with a friend who went to oaksterdam for a couple semesters and he uses veganic growing methods by one of the teachers there kyle kushman, I guess the whole thing about veganics is your only using organic, "plant soluble" nutrients(i think) meaning no bloodmeal or guano. This makes it so you don't have to pH. He uses some of the nutes from gen hydro with some other additives. I also like the true living organics thread by the rev., cool shit that you could just give your plants aloe and coconut water..

Hahaha yeah...sort of a accident...i try and sift through my worm castings to get the worms out....sometimes though there are baby worms in there (gonna happen) so that goes into my mix....next time i see them is at the bottom of my cups as i lift them to see if they need watering.....kind of tells me i need to water aswell....the 'multi worm'....

I have a bit of a confession....i dont know much about my pH..... :(

Ok Brothers Lets Hear Your Ideas On Topping.
No top. Lst
BOTH! shooting for a single site per square in the scrog right dawg? I topped when they were probably 4-6" tall this time (half way to the screen), and it gave me four dominant shoots in all directions..

then when they hit 8" I hit em with a FIM job in four or five different spots per plant, and lst'd those shoots to the further perimeter squares!

but wait... that means they're sturdy... even hardy shoots, then it makes all the side branching on "light-side" of the stems shoot up and become apical- filling in all the squares along the way.

I started fimming when they were still like 3-4" away from the screen, and basically bent those bitches over.... all week...

I like topping early and letting those develop into 4+ good mains. I might top more if it is a viney like a OG. But then I supper crop and LST those mains as they develop to bush it out and get the tops and mid/lowers all on to the same level for a great even canopy.
