Quick Hortilux question

Everyone raves on Hortilux lighting so I figured I'd give it a shot. I found a very cheap, supposedly new, 400w hortilux on ebay for 45 bucks and figured it was a pretty darn good deal so I jumped on it. I'm curious as to why there is no yellow tint to it like all my other lights. it's white light only, like a flourescent. Is this normal with hortilux?

what bulb do you have ? mh or hps?? thats the difference mh is clear /blue and hps are yellowish red..

Sounds like a halide bulb got into your super hps box. You definitely would know if it was hps just by color.

That is an HPS bulb for sure...it should have a very noticeable orange tint. Problem with buying bulbs P2P is knowing whether or not you got the product you paid for. Ive never seen a HPS bulb that lights up blue though...

Blue? I guess that's white? lol

And I agree, I'm going to attempt to get in touch with Hortilux and see what they have to say before attempting to get this guy on ebay in trouble. If he's ripping people off on ebay, they need to know about it.

And of course the guy to speak with at hortilux is out until Friday! ugh

Thank you Bowlfullofbliss! I often wonder why people respond without actually reading the original post!?!? And it said new, and definitely did not look as though it had been used but who knows. I'll let you know what Hortiflux says about it on Friday.

whats the problem again?...........the light looks blue....lol..........it looks like a hortilux bulb to me u should just use it see what happens

lol and I agree Woody, it's just that if the dude is scamming people I want to know about it, and if he's not, then WOW what an awesome deal!! I want to keep buying from him!

I bought 3 brand new 1000w hps off ebay for 57.99 a piece. Deals can be had. I bought him out as soon as i sae them, since then he has relisted them for 60 something a piece. I use digilux but these were cheaper so I bought them
