Hi there growers, planning on replacing the 300w CFL with a 250W digital HID lights , to be precise Dual spectrum HPS.
You will also find measurements of the grow area.
No vents or extractors used. Just one oscillating fan.
With everything switched off the environment temps are about 5° C which is equal to 41°F .
The CFL did generate quite some heat which I didnt expect, and also had a reflector and when on the temps of grow room are about 25º C. which is 77ºF.
If heat is too high then ballast settings can be turned to 150w.
2 questions
1. Will replacing the 300w CFL with a 150W HPS give away more heat with the current set up?
2. Optimum watts to lumens to grow 2 photo plants using HPS, in other words will this setup be efficient?
Your input and opinions would be appreciated.
