Hey RIU peoples,

So today I told my mom about my mini-fridge grow, and I jokingly mentioned that I could build one for her...she said she wanted one! Sweet, another project She likes to smoke weed, but she has really bad osteoporosis, and after breaking her hip twice she can't really get around really well. Also, she lives in a rural area, so it's hard for her to ever even find it. I'm really glad I can help her. It's so funny because I remember her finding my pipe when I was about 14, and having to cop to the old "it's not mine, I'm holding it for a friend" line. Lmao, it's so funny how life changes.

my mom was quite old fashioned. i was gonna slip her some baked goods until the doc wrote her something stronger. now it's too late. still wish i had given her a nice home made brownie.

I used to be very anti weed or any drug for that matter, it was my son who suggested I try it for pain as all the prescribed drugs from the doc upset my stomach so I tried it and hey presto it worked. If my mum and dad were alive they would be horrified! things and attitudes change quite rapidly when your desperate.

Yeah that's true. I think she was just upset because I was so young and she knew I was lying. I'd be pissed too if one my little assholes ever lied to me about smoking. It's not the smoking, it's the lying that would really flip my lid.

My Mom is WAY old-school closed-minded etc... getting shnockered on hooch is fine and dandy- but Pot!? OMG! You can't let people have POT!!!!

Now Dad on the other hand... he and Mom divorced when I was 14 (I'm 45+ now) he remarried a Hippy-chick and spent Summers in the Ozarks at an artist commune... and the rest of the year as a magazine Artist and underground Weed Grower (unbeknownst to me until WAY later)
He and Mom stayed friends- so when he and my Step-monster parted ways, He had My Mom move into the other side of the Duplex he owns--
so basically- they live in the same house- just separate halves!

BUT: Because of Mom- he can't grow anymore... so, since he is the one who started US growing by gifting us with seeds & clones...
we now grow for Him.. and make Hash for him... it is the only thing that helps his Osteoarthritis and Sciatica....

We all joke about slipping some canna butter into Mom's food to chill her out... but she'd kill us all!!!!!! (And probably turn us in - truth be told!)

I need some moms and grandmas to help my dear old mum understand that "medical marijuana" is just that, it's not sitting around getting high. (That's what the head stash is for.) She supports my medical use (and even my recreational use) but, even though she's in constant and chronic pain (she's been in more than 2 dozen accidents -- NOT a single one was actually her fault!) she won't go back to narcotics, but is still stuck on antidepressants and sleep aids, and other shit, to deal with the pain, and she just lives with the hurt, instead of using narcos.

So, yeah, moms... Grandmas, wives... A little help in the "it's not a drug for you, either) department, please!"

OP ... I'm not thread jacking, I'm thread borrowing. You're mom inspired me, set her up right!

I feel the same way about my grandparents. They're in their late 80s and I bet they would love some medical marijuana, if they could let their predispositions get out of the way. But, they're old and they won't change for anyone haha.

I don't think a micro grow would do much medically....can you at least do a 400w in a closet vertically? I do that but it's still not enough by a long shot....

A micro grow for one person is plenty-- you can get 2 decent plants in a closet with 8 150w CFL's and a fan... yield 3-4 oz per plant and start again...

For the Grandma who needs convincing---
get her to try a small piece of a GOOD and REPUTABLE medible...
for many older people it is the though of smoking/vaping they can't get around...

But eating it- or maybe a couple drops of tincture in a glass of wine???
Bet she'd go for it-
just start the dose WAY low so she doesn't get a bad reaction to it !

(It CAN and DOES happen- especially in older folks, or people on other meds-- too much and their BP can drop OR cause their heart race... can even cause blackouts and hallucinations in some people due to other meds or medical conditions--- believe me- I unfortunately had it happen to me and scared the shit outta my family... so please- be careful with giving concentrates and edibles to patients the first few times!)
