Use it thru your grow...Be prepared to add some nitrogen if the lower leaves start to yellow.

So grab something with a 3-1-2 range, and another product strictly for nitrogen. Do I have that right?

Yes. I have several different strains and find that some like larger quantities to maintain their growth. I use blood meal.
Jack's Classic and Dyna-Gro are good quality ferts.
NaturalGuard 6-2-4 with microbes is organic

Sweet. Well, I was one of those who always tried to put the blame on pH without knowing the real problem. After reading for awhile, I now understand varying pH levels don't make that much of an impact in soil. As long as the soil pH isn't all screwed up. But just to make sure, do I have that correct?Yes. Anyways, so now I've moved to the ferts I use, and well after you telling me the NPK ratio I was using is all outta whack, I can change that as well. I gave into the hype a bit as well I guess. Just glad I didn't go all in, some people I see using very expensive stuff, not to mention it has 6+ parts to it.
I'm not dead-set on organics either, just liked the idea, still do. But, really I'm just trying to get a perfectly healthy plant from start to finish, so your recommendations will not go to waste here. If it makes my plants happy, that'll make me very happy. I've always had yellowing, but this time it was quite a bit.

Guess I'll take a look at some of their products when I get up to the nursery.
I'd like to have a better understanding of the importance of pH if you guys wouldn't mind lending some more of your expertise. So much arguing about it, I don't know which side to lean on. I am about the soil, tried a shot at hydro awhile back, didn't like it very much.

Their soil mixes are pretty good. They don't have the desired ratio in their nute dept., but you're looking in the right area....your local yard and garden center.

COF, I haven't seen their actual soils, but that's good to know that their NPK values aren't up to par as far as ferts go.
I have seen people recommend tap water for soil use because of all the beneficial goodies it has; is there anything that would cause it to be unusable? Like maybe higher than normal lead or something of that nature. I know about chlorine and to let it sit out for a day or so, should steps be taken to rid of chloramine? I'm pretty sure my city uses that to treat the water as well, and heard that it doesn't evaporate like chlorine will.

There are three methods that are most commonly used to remove chloramines from tap water.1) The easiest and least expensive way is to use of a chemical dechlorinating product, but choose one carefully, because not all tap water conditioners or dechlorinators are the same. Read product labels closely, and if a product states that it removes chlorine and chloramines, but has no mention of ammonia, beware. Products such as these are designed to break the chloramine bond, separating the ammonia from the chlorine, at which point the chlorine is eliminated, but the released associated toxic ammonia remains in the water. Again, read labels carefully. In all likelihood a product like this will also state that an additional brand name ammonia eliminating or detoxifying product should be used at the same time. The simplest solution to this problem is to buy a complete three-in-one chlorine, chloramines and ammonia treatment tap water conditioner. Shop and compare prices on top choice tap water conditioners recommended as some of the best we have used, both professionally and personally.
2) Install and filter the tap water through an RO (Reverse Osmosis) unit, but make sure it is a quality model that is designed to remove chlorine, chloramines, and ammonia.
3) A simple faucet or under the counter tap water drinking carbon type filter can be used, but the unit must contain high quality carbon, and unless the water is allowed sufficient contact time, it may not be completely effective. Also, chloramines can exhaust carbon much faster than chlorine alone, and therefore filter cartridges need to be replaced more often. Buying a tap water filter that has an indicator that tells you when it's time to change the cartridge is a good investment here.

Where would be the best place to find the dechlorinating products (listed as the first option)? Would the simple faucet attachments be a viable option (brita filters for example)?

Uncle ben can you give me tip on a good guano tea recipe for a bloom booster i have seabird,Jamaican bat and Mexican bat i usally use one as a additive to my feed program but i really want an organic booster any help is fine but ub if u can lend me a pro tweek it would be appreciated

Having read many many many pages of your posts/links i feel pretty confident with my grow which is going nicely....about to start feeding and i hear everything you say about not needing to buy silly expensive products. But before i found this article i had already purchased some nutes cyco grow a & b Guaranteed Analysis for Grow Part A:

Never touch the stuff.
The best bloom booster is plenty of healthy green leaves going into harvest.
It's not a complete food and it's too low in N for me.
What's the name of the 20-10-20? Is it their Citrus FEed?

Could I still use the 5-5-5 all-purpose and then make an extra nitrogen addition? I'll get a picture of the analysis printed on the back of the package when the lights come on. That way you guys can maybe help me supplement what's missing, or in need of more.

Is the discoloration (not green) of the stem on fan leaves and grow shoots normal? What is the cause/why is it happening?
For example: What looked like black lines on grow shoots, and brownish/reddish stems on fan leaves.
