4 strains, 14 plants into TGA strains....Finally found 1 male...

The past few months I've been running some TGA Gear, and have been quite pleased with the results. I find it astonishing that I've been able to order 5-packs of different strains, and continuously get excellent female ratios along with killer phenos with every run.

So far I've run:

5 Deep Purple (5 females), 3 different phenotypes, all dank.
3 Plushberry (3 females), 2 different phenos, including the beautiful "Pink Lady" with her bright magenta calyxes (Pics will be posted shortly)
3 Chernobyl (2 females, 1 male), phenos to be determined (Flowering now)
3 Ripped Bubba (3 females), phenos to be determined

I also have a 5 pack of Jesus OG on the way, and will be starting 3 of those as soon as they get here.

Anyway, I thought that a 13/14 female ratio was particularly impressive!! The male chernobyl I just killed smelled like fuckin' lemon ammonia cleaner, I'm sure it would have made an excellent dad, I just can't properly facilitate breeding at the moment.

put that male into a different room flower it ive been hearing , that makes the females super big more thc , ive not tested it my self, but it makes sence it can feel the mail presents and get those glands opened up any body try this yet ? like hormones

lol. gotta love the RIU advice. what the heck are you talking about? we're not growing 13 yr old boys that get a boner when girls are within 50 ft. whoever told you that is an idiot.

Yeh I like Subs gear as well. Flipped a couple Agent Orange last night actually.

Would love a smoke report on that deep purple Bama! Also, what was your growth rate and stretch compared to the others?

What I did a couple times to collect some pollen without screwing everything else, is let the male flower as long as you can in the flower room WITHOUT actually popping the first sacks open. Then I clipped the strongest branches on top and put em in a vase with some of that powder you get from florists for cut flowers (basically just some carbohydrates as far as I understand) and then took the vase and put it on a piece of glass/plexyglass in a bookshelf with a blanket wrapped around it.

Disturb it as little as possible over the next few days and they'll continue to mature and eventually drop their pollen behind the blanket. This can then be carefully scraped off the glass and collected, dried and stored. Then you just get a small paintbrush and apply to one branch on the plant, usually a lower that's not gonna be the best buds anyways.

Yes, you run the risk of screwing everything up whenever you keep a male around, but if your intent is to get some seeds in the first place, it's just a matter of how careful and attentive you are to it how many you will get. Take the blanket straight to the laundry as well rather than leaving it for a day or two. Once your branch is pollinated, after 3 days or so I like to mist all of the plants in the room with water, as I've read that water will kill the pollen off so it doesn't blow around for the next couple weeks and cause unwanted messy situations.

The only reason I ever made seeds though is to give em to my friends in the boondocks (old time heads) who don't have the money and computer access to get decent gear. They just usually run whatever bagseed they have lying around, so I'll cross a bit of whatever dank I got running and let them deal with the variations. Too many flavors I wanna try out to be running my own unproven crosses.

I've heard animals & insects attrating their opposite sex through something called pheromones. But a plant sensing it's male in a nearby location, I've never heard of.

Anybody can substantiate with evidence?

That'll be a completely new possibility, if it is so ;)

A use for em dudes..
