Is it legal for a doctor to renew your card online?

I need to renew my card, and I was going to renew it at this doctor that has an online renewal system, so after you see one of their doctors and your card expires again a year later, they just let you fill out an online questionnaire and pay with your credit/debit card and then they send you your new card in the mail. Is it legal to do that or should I go somewhere else? That's basically the only reason I want to go there.

That depends on your states policies and laws regarding patient rewnewal requirements. Your state medical cannabis program has a website where you can find any answer to any question.....If your not sure....just call your State MJ Cannabis program....someone there will be able to answer your question....you dont have to say who you are.....your just asking a question!

Legal yes. Medically ethical? Not according to the state boards. He could get in trouble with them, and it might not look good in court if you had to defend yourself, but it's not illegal -- although there may be some states that have legally disallowed doctors from doing so. It's not illegal for you to get a recommendation that way though.

Well technically there is no law that says that you can't get a recommendation via phone or online, but on practice many collectives and dispensaries don't allow such recommendations (as well as Skype doctors).
Law Enforcement and judge wouldn't trust that kind of paper as well. Each patient should be examined and a year-old exam info is not considered as a valid for Medical Recs.
