where can i get silk-screen

Silk screen can be used to sieve the trichomes into a fine kief which can be pressed into hash.

Art supply or hobby shops sometimes stock it....call a few in your area and find out.

He's probably using the mainstream how to make hash video which says to get a silk or mesh screen. I remember the guy say use the screen that t-shirts are printed on.

well i don't really know how i'd go about making my own...in that case where would i find silkworms or silkmoths

here is some at amazon it's 150 micron wich is good for single sieve system, you can also look at places that sell stuff for silk screening t-shirts..they have many micron sizes of silk screen incase you wanted to make a muti sieve system (190 down to 25 micron), 73 micron is my personal favorite that comes out of my 8 seive system.Good luck.

yeah i would like to try bubble bags and will next time but just don't want to through the money for the bags right now ..
i was able to track down some 110 micron silk -screen for the screening method set-up..do you think this would be ok? also does anybody have experience with this method ..any additional info would be great..thanks

110 micron is fine, the smaller micron screen with acctually give you a higher quality end result, but a smaller yield....

I have done plenty of dry sieving, and one important thing is to not push down hard or use to much force at all on the screen, just lightly drag your scuff across the silk and lightly tap the silk so no plant matter gets forced through.

you want the it to be really dry, freeze it before you sift it because it helps loosen up the crystals, like he said be gentle when you sift it, you want to get 10 to 15 percent of the weight to get good hash and it should be golden brown not green. so if you had 1 once of leaves you would only want to sift about 3 grams of keif

oh yeah and do you know ..is thread count different then micron size..i'm pretty sure the guy sold me it was 110 thread count

thread count is different than the micron size,, the micron size is the space in between the threads(the holes) the thread has diamater(thickness) too wich varies(thicker or thinner thread) so the thread count can change and still give you the same micron size depending on the thickness of the thread.

For instance a 150 micron mesh screen with 110 thread count and a 150 micron mesh screen with 200 thread count are basically the same except the latter has finner threads(same size holes though)
