For some reason every res change my ph rises dramatically and I'm most likely attributing it to algae. Idk why it happens since its light proof and good temps but it happens. However, I add about a drop per gallon of water of the tetra algae control and put in a little fish tank stuff with aloe Vera in it in a cup and add it to my res. This stuff has saved me a lot of time and is really convenient. I really recommend it if anyone has similar problems. I tried using teas but, maybe I am doing something wrong, but they make things worse and are kind of a hassle.

OMG im glad im not the only one. it has saved me a lot of heartache over my DWC, and past hydroponic grows. cant recommend that stuff enough. I have the algea fighter AND the chlorine remover for my tap water before I use it. I still distill it but i want to make sure its VERY unchlorinated.

I use API tap water conditioner and was using Pond-Zyme to stop algea. The slime colloids for fish slime coating scared me away from the Tetra stuff.
Way more convenient than letting buckets gas off over night and it gets rid of chloramine too.

I use a conditioner too when putting in the tetra stuff. I read somewhere a guy killed his plants with tetra but I'm assuming he didn't read the directions. What you add seems like an inconsequential amount, but works. I've heard good things about pondzyme
