This is a male, right?

Too early to tell IMO. I'm no expert, let it grow out another few days? even if it is a male I don't think it will pollinate until the nutsacks are mature, just don't pre-matureley kill it.

Aye I guess letting it grow for couple more days won't do harm. But it sure does look like bananas to me, although I'm no expert either.

Indeed I do LST, and so far this particular plant was doing much better than rest of the Ice plants. What exactly is a stress point? I've not heard of this before

Too early for me to tell as well. At least from the pics.

A lot of people seem to mistake the stipules for pre-flowers. Stipules are found on both male and female plants. They are the pointy things found on the stalk near the nodes.

BTW, you aren't looking for "bananas". Those are partial male flowers only found in hermaphrodite plants. Male plants have full male parts. Stamen instead of stigma. Those "bananas" are part of the encapsulated pollen sack that opens when the male matures.

if you tend to stress a plant a bit much a one point it may bring out the "genetic monster" this is what i call genetically herming due to stress its a reflex to keep the genes going when the plant gets pushed a bit far and thinks it may die ;)

keep an eye on them and if they do form into male flowers just nip them off :)

Honestly if u lst too early u can stress it and make it turn on you like a lion it's happen to me also let it grow for a another week mine looked similar to this and I felt the same as you but I put mine in flower 7 days ago and it's starting to show signs of female so no harm in waiting a few more days man

I concur, if it's balls we're dealing with here this could be stress related also.. Some of the plants such as this 1 had just a bit more intense training than the others.
I used to joke that more males would pop up cos of the stress from LST!

im not sure if you guys/gals will understand this type of thing  ......................................................... http://www.ejbiotechnology.info/index.php/ejbiotechnology/article/view/v13n1-4/1082

^^Let's hope I have some of your luck here, and yeh I did LST a bit early. I've decided to ease on the training for now.

Some more small egg looking things are appearing, but it seems as if they have a single 'hair' instead of 2, too small to say for sure, I'll post updates when I can see things better.
