Building a grow box! need some help with calculations

Hello again RIU

Working with a space of these dimensions (picture below). I'm thinking about building a two compartment cab, smaller side for vegging and larger for flowering. I'm looking to only have 2-3 (separate DWC bubblers) plants going at a time as i'm only growing for personal use and to learn. I'm debating on whether or not to Build an entirely new box, or build a smaller area enclosed within the area that i have. (I hope that doesnt confuse)

Snapshot_20130404_4.jpg It's already an enclosed area, It's pretty much an open closet. I'm really having a problem figuring out how many square feet i have to work with. Is there anyone savvy enough to help me out with the dimensions i've provided in this picture?

I'm debating Making a door and attaching it to a floor piece (since it's carpeted and i cant exactly rip up the carpet in the area.) And then lining the entire thing with mylar space blankets. There is already a vent in the back wall that i could use as exhaust (with a carbon filter of course).

OR

Would it just be easier to make a Box within the space and using the Mylar on the insides.

I Was on track to buy a grow tent, but Would much rather build something.

I've got all my supplies and equipment for a successful first grow, except for how to efficiently utilize my space! Which halts the entire production!

Any tips, tricks, or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you

If i could see the dimensions better i could tell you. Easiest way to do it is split the triangle from the cube and add the cubed feet together. Area for a triangle is 1/2xlxw

Had to look on my comp. I did a rough calc and it seems to be around 73. Guess that math class did come in handy hey...

Ok now i got 66.7sq, we were close

Sq ft equals 1,728in

34x58x50 equals 98,600in. Divided by 1,728 equals 57.06sq ft.

17 x 34 x 58 x .5 equals 16,762in. Divided by 1,728 equals 9.7sq ft.

9.7 + 57.06 equals 66.76 sq ft

Fuckin ay.....good luck!
