Does anyone have any experience with heroin that has been cut with xylazine(CAS#7361-61-7)? I recently heard about it from a heroin dealer in the Chicago area and I was curious. So I went home and did a little research on it. According to Wikipedia;
"Xylazine is a drug that is used for sedation, anesthesia, muscle relaxation, and analgesia in animals such as horses, cattle and other non-human mammals. An analogue of clonidine, it is an agonist at the α2 class of adrenergic receptor."
Xylazine is being used as a recreational drug as well and is being used as a cutting agent mainly in Puerto Rico. From what I gather people in Puerto Rico have even begun purchasing it not only when it has been mixed with the heroin but also as pure xylazine(when I say "pure" I mean that people are going out and knowingly buying the xylazine that hasn't been mixed with heroin). From what I have read the xylazine itself is addictive. So the heroin dealers down there are not only supplying the heroin to addicts but they are also getting people addicted to another drug. I found a video on youtube(National Geographic's Drug's Inc.) about drugs in Puerto Rico and it showed a guy who injects it(he also injects heroin and cocaine). The effects look like a good heroin/opioid high with a good nod. The show also showed a horse that was injected with it and the horse's head went down and it could still walk but it walked slowly and with wobbly legs. It seems to me that this stuff is in the same general category as ketamine(special k).
So basically I'm just wanting to know if anyone has ever tried this stuff or has seen people who use/used it? I'm curious as to the effects of it. I have used ketamine once in my life about 13 years ago and personally I hated the stuff and can't see ever taking it again. Ketamine was a completely different high than heroin/opiates is for me. So if xylazine is like ketamine I would think it would be noticeable if I unknowingly bought some heroin that was cut with the xylazine. But if that's true then how do heroin dealers add it to heroin and still sell it as just heroin? You would think that the customer would notice a completely different high.
I think I'm a bit worried about xylazine and it showing up in heroin. I hope it'ss noticeable and people realize that there is something odd about their dope. I hope it's a high not at all like heroin so people don't get tricked into thinking they are just buying really good heroin when in fact they are buying heroin that has been cut with xylazine and therefore catching another habit(addiction).
So like I said if anyone has any info or experience with this stuff I'd be interested in learning more.
