Are These Balls?!?

Am I the only one in this thread who has ever but acetone to a damn plant before??? This might be my first grow, but 10 years plus smoking and 4 years of extracting has apparently done wonders for me over yens. Why Skunk is the only recent intelligent poster: A: "You don't cure leaves" You do if you want to turn them to Hash Oil, because you won't get shit out of a wet plant. B: "It won't be worth the time/money/energy put into it." So taking a pair of Sheers and snipping the plant, then hanging it upside down and forgetting about it until the rest of the plants are done is going to take me... roughly 37 seconds. By your logic, let's say the entire male plant gives me just one extra extracted drop (20-25 dollar retail value in my state). 37 seconds of your time isn't worth twenty bucks? Sorry Mr. Trump, but it's definitely worth mine, and pays for the soil and time spent on the plant. C: "Males are only good for seeds and compost" Now we know that acetone dissolves THC on what? The Molecular level!!??!??!? That means that even a plant with 1% potency will still turn acetone a nice Pee-Yellow. Therefore, it very much stands to reason that my males, who are head to toe crystals, and skunky as can be, will at the very least make me all of the money they cost me back, and I'll never even know which ones were the males and females after they're harvested and BOTH THE MALES AND FEMALE PLANTS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM ARE DRIED!!!!! And for the final "You are all wasting valuable plant material" point to the face, it is well worth every smokers time, waiting on harvest, to take your males and gently scrape off all of your stem crystals... AT THE VERY LEAST! Every single part of the Cannabis plant has a use, male-female, stem-leaf, even the roots can be shredded and used for awesome worm food, and some people eat them. So before you go explaining to me how damn stupid I am because you don't cure leaves or throw your males into your extract pile, I now challenge you to call yourself stupid until you are getting every last possible cent/remedy/perk from your entire crop.

In this picture i can see open stalked male flowers
a shame, i wouldn't waste anymore time on it, get some others started ASAP
Thanks Skunk, and no need to get any others started just yet, I still have 3 very female looking plants growing great. And thank you for understanding the difference between smoking a leaf like an idiot, and extracting the THC from it. I told everyone on page one that the males would be thrown into the hash pile, and suddenly everyone thought this was a thread asking if that was the good idea. When really I just wanted to know exactly what you told me, and where the hell the best places to start looking for the sex-identifiers
were.

Contestant B looks like a ball on a rod (male). I believe A does as well, but I can't quite tell yet. C was a little blurry. Usually the male sex organs show earlier than the fem and the plants tend to be the tallest ones in the garden and are more lanky. I would give them all a little extra time to be certain (because I'm a newb). You have a while before you risk them opening and pollinating so as long as you have the space, I would check again in close to a week.

no worries glad you have some girls left

i recall something about THC being converted from hemp, on an industral scale ofcourse lol

Scientists of the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany, have genetically manipulated bacteria in a manner that allows them to produce the main psychoactive compound of cannabis. This procedure for the production of THC (dronabinol) is thought to be less laborious and therefore cheaper in comparison to the currently used procedure in Germany, said Oliver Kayser of the university on 17 August.

To date, dronabinol has been produced from fibre hemp in Germany. Cannabidiol (CBD) is extracted from this hemp and converted into THC. Chemical extraction from THC-rich drug hemp is not allowed in Germany. The synthetic manufacture of dronabinol would also be costly in comparison to the new procedure. Kayser is anticipating production costs with the new procedure of only about 2,500 EURos per kilogram of THC. E. coli bacteria with isolated genes are responsible for the production of THC in the plant are used

And I'm with Adrik on saving your males. Extract and use for whatever you desire. I made brownies with mine and although they weren't potent they did give me a bit of a body buzz after eating a few. Plus, who doesn't like brownies?!?

From my experience most females start to turn herm on the lower 1/2 of the plant first.
Does anyone have an answer as to where the first signs of male or female normally appear? Obviously at the nodes to all you smart-asses about to waste an answer, but I really want to know if the top colas show before the main stem or vice versa, or whether lower branches are the one's to look at, et cetera?

Thanks for the input but there are actually only 2 contestants, three pics of each plant. If you look at the name on each pic it says contest1 or contestant2, could you double check which one(s) you're saying are male in your opinion? Thanks a lot!

Next time scrape all of your pieces and put the resin you pull out into your extract... THC levels sore! You should feel it in the first brownie! You and I are not the only ones smart enough to do this either, it was the first intelligent response I found when I started researching what to do with males.

haha my bad. Just rechecked. The first I would say male. Second I won't say. Looks male, but idk. Would still wait it out though! And I like the resin idea, but I usually keep my pieces too clean to get much. Maybe my gb but I don't think I would get much off that

Are you aware that you can use resin as a screen? Immediately after I clean a piece I put a screen in, smoke a bowl, then flip the ashes down into the bottom. Tap em down and blow through the end piece, then put your screen back in. In about a week you'll see that familiar thick black at the bottom. Scrape that into a pile right between where the bowl head ends and the air passage back to the mouth piece begins. Resin builds faster on resinated surfaces, obviously, and thus this pile grows rapidly. By about the second time you scrape that all back you now have a mound that will safely catch all free-flying-pieces-of-burning-Hell from getting into your lungs, even without a screen in the bowl. Helps you collect salvagable thc and protects your tongue!
