Just adding this to my book of things not to do but wanted to share.
i noticed that when i planted 5 seedlings almost all of them died.
i planted 4 Blue Mystic from Nirvana and 1 Snow white.
only 1 snow white and 1 blue mystic survived my idiocy. i've never had a problem with seedlings before but i hate the process because seedlings are so friggin fragile in their seed state up until they grow their first set of true leaves it seems they are always in the Intensive care unit.
basically what i did was i decided to have them germ faster so i wet the soil all the way through planted the seeds and then covered them watered that. and then put plastic wrap over the cups so it would keep the moisture in. i've never let them rest in darkness i always have light.
well when they all popped i noticed that a lot of them looked sickly some even had some kinda grey mold spores on them. i read and i guess i had something called damping off. because literally within THAT DAY they collapsed fell flat and the roots literally shriveled up and died. this is within a span of 10 hours!
i read and i guess i had WAY to much moisture going. so i had to go into action and i turned up the heat to dry out the area and i also took off the wrap. after that the soil dried up quickly within 2 days. and then the only remaning two seedlings have now sprouted fully and have grown their true leaves. in fact they are exploding now and i'm getting solid growth within the 18 hours that the lights are on.
I thought putting wrap on the cups was a good thing. i guess its not. just a simple tip though for the new growers out there. this is my 4th grow so i'm surprised i had this problem.
i will also say this i tried to talk to nirvana about it. and although they said it was my fault still credited my account with 1000 points which factors in to a 10 dollar discount on anything new i happen to purchase.
