Yes, NBR= No Ballast Required. SWEET!

Super Simple, right?
And years of high quality lighting
you could just wire up the g2 socket bulbs and sockets to a piece of i hear you can get the 2 peices at 1$ per watt.

i wonder why the g2 led bulbs are cheaper than the e27?

yeah im just gonna forget bout those leds for now, ill look for something a little more balanced and not so deep blue that might be a bit much.

E27s are old tech. Lots of heat sink + a lot of analog parts from non-led tech. New tech has miniaturized the electronics, while significantly improving efficiency.

And within short order the 20w bulbs will be 40+ (1 bulb will take the place of 2)!

I feel bad for all the people buying > $400 led panels (especially R/B), but if you rely on others 'knowledge' without doing your homework (people are inherently lazy) then they get what they deserve.

Since it's a slow posting day, thought I would provide a photo update.

Due to height restrictions on my tent, I have decided next time I will use one small RM Roughneck tote per plant (large shoe box that I use for rooting clones). This will provide grat flexibility. I will use 2-4 oxystones per tote. If that doesn't provide sufficient bubbles I can employ the 70 L/M pump so I can use 4 stones per tote. But damn, that pump is noisy

Wish these scratch and sniff

Can you see my hand below the huge primary leaf? I had to turn it the long way so you can see how big this leaf is

Still no bud clusters :(

Hmmm, I checked my notebook, but somehow I neglected to make a note. looking back on the thread, my first pic/mention of pistils is 3/1, so ~ 20-25 days, but actual clusters/ i will have to go back to see whether I made mention.

Looks like my first 'bud' mention was on 3/8

I keep saying I need to create a spread sheet, but it never happens. We've had a fair number of sub 50 days during that time, which no doubt slowed buds down

Been impatiently waiting for actual buds in my led tent. Is this strain slow to bud? Dunno, first time growing it

Even though I have only been using the 5000K/800 lumen (mostly at the top of the canopy) between ~ 10-4, it finally occurred to me that between the 10w of blue in the ufo + it might be too much blue, especially since this plant is India dom, and thus preventing bud development.
:wall:

I just replaced it with a 6.5w 450L WW for more lower lighting

Had some time, and needed to lower the plant, so here she is outside the tent. This will be great for the mother, but presents a light distance problems for her 2 clones. Got a few ideas.

Another good reason to get rid of cfls. I wonder if this is also true of hot5 and or HPS bulbs. One poster wrote that he had headaches with hps, but not with leds

A lot of the strobing depends on the ballast used to drive the lamps. For example, newer digital ballasts for Fluorescents are much better than the older analogs. I remember how old cheap shop lights always buzzed and flickered a lot.
I have seen a number of HPS pics that look like the lights are strobing. I'd imagine since CFLs are mass produced to be cheap, that they are worse than tube fluorescents.
I'm not really sure that the strobe effect is that big of a deal for the plant.

Long time no hear. Catch me up!

You know me better than to spend big bucks on a 'finished' product, unless or until it incorporates all the tricks

New pics. Both tents are very high in reds, so photo quality suffers. Wish we had scratch and sniff

LED Tent

She is 29", but looks > 3ft. Her infrastructure is strong, and well defined

After posting the above, I noticed that my supplemental bulbs were all to close to the canopy.

At first, I lamented buying the short extenders, in lieu of the longer, but now I only lament not having gotten enough of them, OR, also getting 2 long ones- easily remedied.

The combination of extenders + Y socket adapters allows me to get quality supplemental lighting ~ 12" below the canopy. BAM!

I took 2 short extenders, plugged the first direct into the vanity bar, at that point I screwed in a Y, giving me 2 WW bulbs hitting the nether-lands from 2 different positions.

The other side of the vanity I have 2 extenders piggybacked to reach the clones. Holy crap, I can add another Y here and hit th opposite side of the with another screw bulb. On that note, the Feit 22w is too heavy for the extender's flex, anyway I don't need 22w below- 6.5-10w per, is ample.

There's way more light than this pics show. Looks plenty lit up under there now

Expecting some big fat nuggz under there now

I'm beginning to realize a pic or 2 might help... update in a few

T5s would provide wider coverage. A pair of T5s (one on each side) would be a better choice, but I like to go with what I have on hand. Also my tent is not currently equipped with a substructure to hold side lighting

15W WW BR30 by Lighting Science @$15 - a decent deal? Got an email from 1000bulbs where they have them on sale.

^^Assuming Lowes/HD is close by, I would call to see whether the new CREES are in stock first (~ $10). Hurry though, sounds like the shelves are getting cleaned out of the initial run

HOT5 Tent

I just completed a major cleaning. The lava rock does crumble a little, and enough had built up in the bottom that I decided to pull all the plants, to thoroughly clean now that I am in the final push. Also dumped the old, and started over with fresh nutes ~800ppm

she looks good PF! looking like an odd ball tho i see what you mean about the indica leaves more clearly now, but that structure is definitely sativa traits.
