What is the L.E.D equivalent of a 250W HPS?

Hey everyone

I know that an HPS will always out play an L.E.D. (for now) but if there would be anything that would come close to it, what would it be in comparison to yield penitential? Not wattage, not lummens, just yield potential. For example if you have done a 250W grow and a L.E.D. grow , what L.E.D. did you use to get the same yield as that 250W HPS? Any info would help guys. Thanks everyone.

I think mine is 280 w. I run in a fairly small cab. I'll have to look back but I think I got n nearly an oz from a single run

Depends on light, type leds, how.much driven , par / watts , etc... Off hand 35w to 40w actual watts per sq ft is ideal. But like the new a51 with crees should beat a 400 hps at 165 watts. The apache tech 120w , 2 of those will beat a 600 hps

Ya. $2,000 for two apache LEDs vs $200 for a 600 HID. Some comparison, no comparison.

OP- Yields? Basically hyroot is correct, it would take about 250 watts of LED or more to match a 600 watt HID in yield results when every other factor is identical. If you do the LED route give me a message in a year when you finally break even on the start-up cost of a LED system.

Apaches are too xpensive. i would go with A51 or inda gro around same cost to match a 600 hps.

600 watt hps set up quantum ballast, yield master hood, digilux bulb - $300 (homie price), inline fan and ducting - $225 = $525 just say $550 plus replacing bulbs every 10 months- $300 and plus triple electric costs. with hid almost always have to run a/c too. $175 a month in power. just for garden

2 a51 panels 330 watts $900 - lifetime warranty - electric costs $50 a month. no a/c needed. they don't put out anywhere near the heat of hid

inda gro 420 watts $800 - 10 year warranty - electric costs $60 a month

should pay for itself in electrical savings in about 6 1/2 months.
