idk, $4k worth of work is a lot imo.. brakes could run close to a grand alone, if you need new rotors all around and pads and all.. idk how much the gas tank job would be, lets say for shits and giggles another grand, we're now up to 2k.. rust sucks, but it won't not make a car / truck run ..
you could get the gas tank and brakes done and still be ok imo, but how much money do you want to keep dropping into an older vehicle is the real question..
on the other hand, what kind of vehicle are you going to get for the same money you'd sink into the truck, if you know what i mean.. if you don't feel it's worth it, you have to make that decision and i guess look into something else, or fix the few things to keep it running long enough to unload it on someone else as no one is going to buy a truck that needs brakes and a gas tank.. kind of sucks either way you look at it imo..

Yeah, it's 14 years old, I think putting anymore than a grand in to it is not a very good investment and he pretty much said he was letting some things slide that would definitely need attention called to at next inspection. Well fuck. Trucks are so expensive even used shitty ones lol. After having a truck I can't ever not have a truck though. Decisions decisions. Wanna buy a baby? :-P

Mmm....turbo.. :D
it's home... :D

what model is that??
FUCK! The mechanic just called and said in his opinion my truck is not worth fixing. Fuck fuck fuck.
try a different mechanic and see what they say!
2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab. He said the gas tank is leaking, needs new brakes all around and the whole bottom is severely rusted and said he just knows if he starts pulling stuff off it ain't gonna go back on and the costs will just snowball.
1. fuck the rust. 2. gas tank can be fixed for like 5 bucks with some JB weld probably. 3. depends whats wrong with the brakes. rotor and drums shouldnt cost you more than 50 bucks a piece and pads shouldnt be more than 25 bucks a wheel. sooo..... thats all adds up to around...300 bucks! lol thats if you do it yourself though. hit the auto parts store and get all your parts whether you or a shop is fixing it and if i were you i would look up the brake job online and do it yourself.
YEESSSSSS! lol
