I grow outside. This is my second grow. Got a greenhouse to germanate, then I put the babies outside right away, still in their buckets so that they start out right away in strong winds and direct desert hot sun. They love the invironment as long as they are put out right away. My first generation, I kept them sheilded them from wind and direct sunlight until they were two feet tall. Even tho I hardened them off slowly, they freaked from the sun and wind after I put them in them the ground. I just trimmed off the burnt leaves and they are happy and robust. The trimming doesn't matter outside because of the long growing season. The leaves under get more sunlight therefore they get larger etc. The next shift of babies I germinated outside in direct wind and sun, I kept them moist and they popped like popcorn. Life is good.

I am grateful for our Mother Earth for her gifts. She blessed me with three 7 footers last year and this year I have 30 so far.

I planted corn around my beauties. We thought the corn would have caught up by now. After all corn grows so fast you can hear it growing. But man these weeds know how to grow!

Thanks. goin mostly on instinct. Loving playing in my garden a lot! My property has a natural slight southern slope. Get more sun that way. :peace:

The cheapest way is heating mat, rockwool plugs, tray and humidity dome.

You'll need some rooting hormone, rootek or clonex work well for me.

I've got a shop close by. I'll get some rooting gel. So, I can't root in moist good soil?

You can use something besides rockwool, it needs to be sterile though, can't have open wounds in something that might contain harmful microbes, they will have something cheap and easy at the shop.
Perlite mixed with vermiculite works, cheap.

plenty of fresh air and sunshine and water. had a few dark days, very cloudy and cold. Suddenly everybody started flowering. Got buds. very cool.

I know. My family curses the day I got my first camera. Need a better on tho. They are growing an inch a day. Does anyone know if that is a good growth rate?

6 days later. That measuring tape says 20 inches incase you can't quite see it. They're so pretty!

Hi,
I've played around with this a bit since I live in the California high desert, with very hot sun and very powerful winds, like every day. Last year I had 3 successful and fruitful ladies. I started them indoors, transplanted from samller to larger pots several times before they ended up in the pot they remained for the growing season. These girls never totally adjusted to the harsh conditions and needed to be partially sheltered from the wind and sun for the entire growing season.

This year I germinated indoors by the windowsill again, and repotted a couple of times again, then put them in the ground. I had great difficulty hardening them off because they weren't use to the harsh conditions. When I finally put them in the ground, some leaves dried fromthe sun and the wind, but my girls are doing well, bright green, bushy, dense and full of flowers and life fource, however...

Too much work for me and too much trauma for them, so now I germinate them directly into the pots they will remain in until I put them in the ground, outside in direct hot sunlight with the wind howling around them. They Love it! They get really thick stalks right away and the growth rate is amazing. So, anyway my methods keep changing every day, but considering I have osteo arthritis, rhemutoid arthritis and fibromyalgia, I am always looking for the most efficient way to go. What do you think? It is really working well for me.

The slope is natural and the location chosen because of such. I love playing in my garden! I have fibromyalgia and it is very painful and difficult at times, but I am learning new methods that are more comfortable for me every day and the blessings are tremendous

I got some organic pellet things that smell like fish from Family Hydroponics. I'm away visiting my Mom, so I'll ask my daughter to check the name for me and let you know. My old camera finally gave out so I need a new camera to take more pics. Two stains have been added. A patient's family were threatening to throw away his plants and seeds so he brought them to me to take care of. Way to support your loved one, family :evil: I love my little magical garden. :mrgreen:

Wow! They are growing so fast, more than an inch a day. and they have till Octorber. And they're still pretty. Sorry the pics aren't tagged, but it's easy to tell which pics are 12 days later. Lots of wind, sun and water.
