hey guys, if i can just chime in on your convorsation here....
i go solo cup > 1 gal grow bag > 3 gal fabric pot
i shake the seedling out of the solo cup (i save my cups)
i take a razor to the plastic grow bag and just cut it off.
i dont have any input on the root system from the fabric pot because i have yet to remove one of the plants from one (just started using them).
heres where i have been getting my supplies....2 bucks each for 3 gal fabric pots, they are made from recycled plastic water bottles which is something i really like (keep it green right)
1 gallon plastic grow bags 25¢ ea or a case of 500 for 13¢ ea
3 gal fabric pots 25 bags @ $1.60 ea
shipping has generally run me around 10 bucks......so if you incorperate that into your prices......the more you buy the cheaper they get. but even if you just order one pack of 25 fabric pots and pay shipping your still only looking at 2 bucks each...
the 3 gal grow bags do not have handles...but thats the same with about any other grow bag and to be honest...they dont need them. the fabric is sturdy and can be lifted with ease and no concern of breaking.
if you want to skip the middle man to save some cash you can go straight from solo cup to 3 gal (or whichever size you prefer) and not even get the 1 gal grow bags. i simply use them because they help me manage space in my veg tent while allowing my roots and plants to continue growing.
hope this helps.
oh and one last thing...the website i mentioned is not the fastest on getting your items out the door. last time i ordered it was like 3-4 business days before my item was shipped....if your not in a huge demand for them "right now" its definatly worth taking a look at as you can save a bit of money
