I don't see where I failed, you dimwit. In my post I reccomended a sulfur burn. PM is systemic disease and needs to be treated as such. It's plant herpes.

The irony still stands, ops name is thetreedocta and asking for advice that any doctor of any plant would already know. But apparently the humor in the irony sailed over your heads. I did not mean to hurt any butts, but to simply point out the blatant irony.
LMFAO - thank you for the careful explanation of your 'joke'

Makes me laugh even more when they attempt to defend themselves. Thank you good sir for my continued mirth.

Im in med school so my email and everything else is thadocta (been that since i was like 12) so i just added "tree" to it. Im not saying im a weed guru(my plants are pretty damn chronic though).
Flagrant false advertising in my opinion. Hrmph! I had made big plans to employ you to manage all the trees in my 50 acre Royal Berkshire estate. Not impressed one little bit Mister!

;-) LOL

PM is NOT systemic. Hard to get rid of, and it does extend into the plant walls, but its not systemic.
Intially PM is a airborne spore until it roots in your plant

If you take starts off an infected plant the pm goes with the babies sometimes grows on the babaies.....

that is why you can get clones from anywhere they look good in veg but in flower pm shows up

Thats how I got pm... from some healthy looking clones (4 strains) bought from a store.....didnt show till week 4 of flower on one of the new strains then spread to the others

Fully agree you can get plants that have PM and not see it. That does not make it systemic. By the time most people see the PM its actually at a very advanced stage of sporulating.
If the plants come from a room that has resident PM, the plant leaves very likely have dormant PM spores on them someplace. It only takes one spore to start.

If you went a couple of months before PM showed up its possible that the PM just came in from outside. Keep in mind that PM spores are generally in the environment, They have the ability to overwinter.

Not one mention of how to prevent PM.

People think that high humidity causes PM. While that can help, there are some other issues.

PM does best at temps between 60 and 70 degrees.
PM will not grow/spread above 77, unless it is already out of control.

I got PM when my humidity was constantly below 35%.
The problem was I let my temps stay below 70 for a week.

Sure, lower your humidity, but also watch your temps. Temperature is more important that humidity for PM.

If you add a dehumidifier to lower your relative humidity.
Is there one you would recommend - considering this as one of my next purchases, to help cope with indoor summer growing conditions (which equals high temps/humidity for me).

There are at least a couple of known strains of PM, and each has their own preferred temp.
Random search on the internet turns up:

"A dozen or so different fungus fall under the heading of Powdery Mildew, but two different fungus species are the most likely culprits. L. taurica, tends to attack warmer gardens. It prefers a temperature of about 77 F (25 C). S. macularis prefers a cooler temperature; however, the more virulent stain found in indoor gardens today has adapted to tolerate more heat. Both strains thrive in moderate humidity and are not injured by water.

Powdery mildew is sensitive to heat. Neither species will grow at 90F (32C). and will quickly perish when above 100 F (38 C)."

Seems advantagous to allow grow room temp at high noon to get up to 90+ for a little while each day.

If you add a dehumidifier to lower your relative humidity.

If you have a powered intake then you can get yourself a HEPA filter for it that will trap any mold spoures.

Neem also works against powdery mildew.

Increase fan oscillations in and around the plants.

Between leaves are where most moulds propagate from due to leaf surfaces touching creating micro-climates.

Is there anything cheaper than the HEPA filter that i can use in the meantime?

are you really a premed? where I came from premeds were smart and knew how to do research on their own :) I mean really you can look up the pore size for PM and find appropriate filters all without leaving your desk

Orrr I can ask it on a forum. You don't count that as research? Yes, i've heard of google, but USUALLY i get a better consensus on here and in a quicker amount of time because people know their shit. And im not pre-med, im in my second year in med school at ucsf. This is my first grow and i've only been learning this for 2 months and my buds are beyond top shelf as yo9u can see in the pics (at only 4 weeks, two days flower) so I don't think im an idiot.View attachment 2557981View attachment 2557982View attachment 2557983

Um you dont have pm...those are called crystalls :)

To prevent pm heres how

Use a closed GrowRoom (GR)...Filter all income fresh air.... Constant air movement inside the room 3-4 fans

Dont allow your temps to fluxuate more than 10 degrees in flower (lights on/lights off)

Keep your humdity (RH) at a constant... during lights on the RH will drop as the lights go off the RH rises this is the time to use a dehumid

If you have infected plants in veg try Eagle20 (5-10ml to a gallon water) and a fungal bomb in your Growroom( Fungaflor)....remove all the plants from the GR & spray all plants from the GR not just the infected.... then bomb your GR...leave the room sealed for 3-4 hours....vent room and replace your plants

thats sad I wasn't dissing you for growing ability, I was dissing you for not doing the research that I would expect all doctors to do on their own. Especially in an area that requires intimate knowledge of a biological system. Depending on social feeds to diagnose and repair :)

What, may I ask, was your reason for posting that? Do you have beef with the bloke?

Maybe he prefers to engage in discussion with experienced, like minded people, as a more involved, social way of researching. I could point you in the direction of a myriad of journal articles and academic texts that would support the validity of his method as being higher than that of simply searching around online. I would certainly far rather be treated by a Doctor who gained his status whilst developing professionally under such a philosophy; than be treated by a reductionist orientated Doctor who simply see's me as a thing with a $ sign over my head that he must sort out as simply as possible to him. :peace:

Why diss someone at all? Says all sorts of things about you to me - that you are a troll is the friendliest of them.

I appreciate the place of trolls on the internet. I however value the respect and helpfulness present in this community, and you are working against that. For what reason? Come on? Give me one that proves you are not sad!

intelligent people also know how to use time wisely. The choice is whether to spend 10-15 minutes researching, or post a question in 2 minutes.

I expect a doctor with all of the advanced education to determine what type of air filter will handle PM spores and figure out where to get it at a reasonable cost. I expect a doctor to have these skills at their fingertips and not depend on the social internet where everything must be True. No I do not have a beef with the guy, I actually tried to point him in the right direction. see the earlier replys. But the so called med student won't do ANY of his own research and seems to rely on social media instead.

Don't even get me started on the fallacy of the concept of 'intelligence'! LOL :-P

thatreedocta has demonstrated wisdom, which pisses all over the make believe construction that is intelligence. :peace:
