Hey everyone im very new to the sceene and Ive been looking to make my own led light for my grow and im struggling with buildong it. I have looked up and i have decided to try to go with 207 lights all 3w cheap chinas at first so i can mess up and perfect it so i can then grab the more expensive ones. Im going with 100 660nm's 100 625nm's, 46 cool or warm whites and 24 deep blue. Im trying to figure out the total amount of drivers needed for this type of project and how I should run them. Any help would be great.

I'm interested in making my own light also rather then pay out the wang for 240w LED...

Can someone hook us up with a good and thorough walkthrough?

they invented google a few years ago. it works pretty good. Theres 1000 blogs and threads about diy LEDs. superbrightleds.com has all the drivers and specs.
If you are going to DIY an LED setup I doubt you need spoonfeeding on how to set it up. at least I hope you dont.

damn how much is it gonna cost for all those led chips?
I'm going cheap first time around so around $1 per chip. I'm buying like 400 though because I want to make 2. And I have seen a lot of forums but only for smaller panels I'm talking roughly 600w and the technical task is what's confusing me not my searching ability

Those Meanwells are rock solid. They do get a bit hot to the touch (~110F) so keep that in mind if you have a small grow area.

protip: if you are struggling with the technical side, i maybe wouldnt try assembling 400 LED for your first try.

make a 30W panel, then re-assess your goals.

If they're the Satistronics LEDs, you'll see a decent color and brightness amongst them.. but they won't be on the caliber of the Cree P4s, and any optics which are optimized for the Cree won't work with the Satistronics ones whatsoever. That said, there's other methods you could use.. and am curious which LED company you've chosen. The cheapest 3W LEDs I can find from any Chinese distributor (without a bulk discount, of which I'm not buying 1000 of them) runs 1.50 a piece.. with your 207.. that'd be 310.50-ish not including drivers, board, or other things to put it together. Please post a link to the ones you're using if you wouldn't mind, thanks! :)

The guys at the Grow shop said you can run LED bulbs in a T8, You will need to re-wire it so it will be direct power.

Please look this up! I have not done this or researched it! The price of the bulbs are a little too high for me right now.
