Considering buying a grow room...

you know one of those rooms thats completely set up for growing. I would like to move my operation to the garage but its cold here in the winter so I want to look into one of those.

anyone had any experiences with them?
what website might i obtain said object from?

I also considered just getting a tuffshed and throwing it in there. lol. a long skinny one of some sort so i can still park my car!

Read the threads, nobody wants to hold your hand!! get a tent and set it on a platform in your garage, you dont want it on the floor, gets pretty cold in SEA TOWN so you might need external heaters blowing on bottom of tent. hope it helps

shes not asking for anyone to hold her hand, she wants peoples opinions based on their experiences with pre-built grow systems. I dont blame her, a lot of those things are SEVERELY over priced and lots of products out there today dont work as well as they should/claim.

But ya, a grow tent is a pretty good way to go. You can get a nice big one for around 200 bucks which has all the vent holes pre-cut for in and out air. If you put up the extra cash for the nice ones then theyre pretty well equipped in terms of keeping heat in and cold out. But as kochab said, youre going to definitely want keep it off the floor. You don't necessarily need to keep it off the ground, if you just by some insulation board that'll work fine.

I gotta agree with you. I spent $200 on one of those grow tents and to be honest it was a waste of money. That $200 only paid for the tent itself... no fans, thermostats or other things needed were included.

I never thought about a cheapie cabinet from a thrift shop.... but it sounds like a much better idea then buying a tent.

totally agree! Roll Yer Own and have exactly what you want/need and not some cheap piece of shit made by the lowest bidder for the highest markup!

originally i thought about buying a prebuilt cabinet like Tbag suggested, but at this point i have realized the only way to get things exactly as i want them will take a totally custom build.

thats the key right there, pre fabricated products arent directed @ growing in specific conditions, they just try to create ideal conditions with the units....
where as if you build it yourself then its exactlly what you need to preform well if not better than ideal conditions.

and i dont the warehouse would be good because there would be odd things coming and going, also the cops could get a search warrant easily from the owner of the building, all they have to do is ask.A
nd if a landlord was came to by the police with news that their tenant may be doing illegal things in there, the landlord would give them permission to search indefanitly

I do read the threads. obviously or i wouldnt have as many replies as i do. but i havent seen anything on actual purchased grow rooms. I never asked anyone to hold my hand. I asked for advice or personal experiences with them. so a snide remark wasnt helpful at all!

Im not sure what insulation board is. but i'm sure i can figure that out. lol. we do have some carpets we could put it under but i'm not sure if thats better than insulation board.

i did look at some pretty crazy grow tents before i posted this by google searching but not much came up so Im gunna check HTG supply and I think our local grow shop may sell them so i might call them before i make a trip down there to check em out!!

I saw one that came with all the fans and light fixture even. I already have a MH setup with a pretty big reflector so I'm hoping theres a way i can use that in a tent. any idea?

lol. funny thing is i just grow. i dont smoke... thank you very much. but also Im a girl with LIMITED tools. (a few screwdrivers and a drill. thats it) and I dont have the ability to get all crafty. not to mention i have money to spare to get something that works well. so Id prefer to get something nice to put in my garage. its not a matter of lazyness.

insulation board is a silver lined styrafoam type material that insulates houses and stuff, they use it alot when insulating brick basements and things like that. and you should be able to use that mh in any tent i think but Ive never used one so i dunno for sure

wow a grower that dosent smoke, now thats really rare. You grow as a caretaker or as profit?
I said that about building one because thats the only gauranteed way i can think of your car fitting in there with a big tent.
