Questionable friend

There's this guy I know from work, and I got him growing outdoors and then he got me going indoors. He pretty much blew his whole house up, where I kept a more modest grow.
Anyways he goes through an ugly divorce, has to shut everything down. What I eventually find out is their both back on meth. He did time in another state over this already and they moved here to get away from it.

So I google his name and see he's been arrested, like a month ago. Funny he never mentioned this to me.
So I confront him about it, and he says that he was just embarrassed. He shows me pictures of a duffle bag filled with shit and wads of cash. He's into it pretty heavy evidently.

I don't want a fucking thing to do with him now. As far as i'm concerned he's my weak link. If I get popped it's gonna be from him. Also I see this morning, his two friends got arrested again. One of them for trafficking. That dude will be gone for years.

So I know cops like to go after bigger fish not smaller ones, but I can't help wonder, when he gets busted, because it will happen, can he rat on me to get a little time off his sentence? Can the police just take his word for it and show up with a warrant?

I don't know. I was wondering if anyone had a similar circumstance.

Hey man. About your "questionable friend" - that's hilarious by the way. I wouldn't let his problems be a factor in your determination if he is a man who would rat you out. It doesn't matter the size of the crime, a rat is a rat. We all have our vices. You say you brought everything to his attention and instead of being upset he said he was just embarrassed about it and then showed you his stash? I'd be embarrassed too. He doesn't sound like a bad guy to me taking into consideration that I have never met the person. It sounds like a complicated situation you're in now, though. You've got an op going and he's got ties to the pigs. The way I see it, your first option should be raising your concerns with him. Take into consideration this guy has had dealings with the police and probably knows what a nightmare it is. I think he'd be understand your worries and possibly help you come to a resolution or ease your mind. Either way, you'll know more about who you're dealing with and what to do with him the more you talk to him. Keep your friends close, keep your questionable friends closer. Good luck man, hope your op survives.

Hes not your friend anymore. I really hate to say this but if you want to be safe get rid of it all if your illegal. I mean NOW. These asshats have no friends when it comes to doing time

Oh I told him, when does this become my problem. He was all bro I can't believe you would think that, I would never rat. I don't think he would either, but...
I'm just wondering if he did, can they just get a warrant? Or would they have to still do an investigation?

even if you told him you cut it all and he believed you he might try to pull the "well I know a guy who used to grow....." I hate to say it too. Need to either follow fungus's advice, or stillbuzzins....or get really crafty and put it somewhere a lot more secure, like on a moon base secure

edit: you know him better than any of us. So it comes down to what you think he is capable of or willing to do for his own ass and if he would rat and then it comes to your paranoia level. I would scrap it, maybe find a way to save what I can, but until the smoke clears a little, take it easy.

The answer to your question, is yes. If he tells the police you are a major grower, they have enough to get a warrant. Happened to me. There's no telling what he may say to save his ass, and if he has a big bag of drugs and cash, maybe a gun or two, it could be anything. Of course, once the police pop you and he decides to shut his piehole (or comes up missing), you can probably get off with no probable cause because their "witness" no longer exists, by virtue of no longer talking, or actually missing.

Choose your "friends" carefully. First rule of grow club......

This is what I was wondering.
I'm definately not a major grower, but yeah he can say anything.
Weed was the common denominator in being friends. I didn't know he was gonna go meth cowboy.lol

I bought my last two sacks. Fuck that. Shit's expensive.

Just was wondering if i'd get the knock and ask or the flashbang, shoot the 12lb dog swat team. lol

hey now my ankles have been under siege by those vicious chihuahua attack dogs, they are deadly. If I wasn't wearing my bullet proof socks I would certainly be without a foot today, maybe even a whole leg!

I wouldn't lose sleep over it, unless you do have a big grow. If you do, I'd be more worried he would tell some idiots who would come over to rob you. That shit can get sideways fast. I hate tweakers.

For what ever reason, when I was 10 or 11 my dad picked me up. Never met him before.
He takes me to the grocery store, cause that's where I guess you take kids to have fun?
We go to the hotdog cart to get hotdogs, I finish my hotdog and he says, do I want another.
I'm such a pathetic kid that i'm like, two hotdogs. HE'S RICH!! Oh yeah he also had power windows.
I don't recall him asking me anything. He might have I just don't remember.
That was it, he dropped me off and I never saw him again.
Now looking back i'm assuming it was a bar bet. You lose and you have to spend 20 minutes with your kid. lol
I mean jeez reject me once fine. Twice your just an asshole.
