You also have to take into acct that you LSTed her (and what a beautiful job it is) and that stresses her when she's making those super highways for nute transfer..(ya I'm still readin'..lol)

I just want to reiterate what HRH said earlier. IMO it is fairly important NOT to top and train (with exception to LST) with 12/12 from seed. The stress can be much more detrimental to the over all results as opposed to a vegging plant. If you are a bud waver 12/12 from seed will give you some biggins to wave. Like I said earlier 12/12ers dont branch out like a vegged plant so a majority of the bud is in the main cola which will try to grow down the entire main shoot if left alone (ie. no topping etc...) and result in some pretty impressive main colas and far fewer popcorn buds. From what I can see your yield is reduced slightly but having said that you still get a very respectable yield, the bud is dense high quality bud and a perpetual single room grow is easy and just plain fun. We forget about the part of growing that is supposed to be fun an aweful lot in order to keep up with the joneses. I have been fortunate enough to absorb the info I need from all of you without feeling the need to outdo you so I have managed to keep green plants and have fun.

everyone is losing the most valuable part of indoor growing though. its growing plants under strict lighting conditions faster then it takes for say an outdoor plant to mature.

Dude you should really set back QUIETLY and listen and learn. You seem to be a bit lost by the content of your last few posts.

I bashed it until I tried autos. Screw those except for outdoors here in Alaska. Then I tried 12/12. Reduced yield for obvious reasons but more frequent yields for obvious reasons. If a guy were to start a plant a week or every 2 weeks until you started harvesting it could be a good thing . However at my house it got smoked too fast with 2 spine patients puffing away. 12/12 beats autos any freaking day and is a valid grow method in my book.

I just started tinkering with my light schedule...
initially I was on 24/0 in veg under my 400W MH
but I just changed to 18/6 and am trying to take note of the differences...still to early to tell for me.

and in flower I use 600W HPS on 12/12 ... which is working great...

I flubbed around with nutes for a while...but once I ordered seeds online I started using the Fox Farms line...and really like the results.

It has been a challenge this past year working on temp control.
Veg is always btn 75-83F w/ 20% humidity.
Flower is 60F at night and about 75F during it's day and humidity is a bit lower...

My routine is consistent of topping around the 2nd or 3rd week of veg, then supercropping around week 4.
I've been taking my stalk right below the new top and breaking it to re-heal... this has gotten me little 'nutrient nodes' right below the main cola.

I have noticed that my plants tend to stay pretty short...
probably a combination of supercropping and keeping my light too low...

is it just me? or is it hard to raise the light? I get so nervous...like my babies wont get enough....

I have been taking my Vegged out plants and putting them in 12/12 when I feel it is time for them to flower...(like when I run out of room)
but I have had a very high percentage male out....
thats partly why I recently bought feminized seeds...

so now..I think I'll wait till the plant starts showing sex and see if there really is a difference...i hope there is!!
I think I'll try raising my light more too...while my plants are very lovely...they always stay short as junk...

Okaaaaay. You bought feminized seeds but from now on you're going to wait until they indicate - why? And how will you determine any difference?

well, from what the initial post said....if you start flowering too early it increases your chance of getting a hermmie...so instead of me deciding when to flower..I think I'll wait till nature starts showing signs....I have had a large male out rate lately...and that MAY be the reason...

and I tell the difference by looking at the stem, balls&sacks vs cola.... sometimes it's hard for me to tell...but I get it most of the time.

.....all my feminized seeds show female characteristics from about the 4th or 5th set of branches anyway... right around the time I top 'em.

so i've been doing 24/0 for my first ever grow but i'm also not using enough light at this point (more on the way in a week or two)

should i switch to 18/6 or keep it at 24/0 because they really arent getting enough light with this setup?

I have done 3 12/12 from seed grows now. Those 3 grows have totaled 26 plants and 9 different strains that were a mixture of fem seeds and regs both purchased and bag seeds and I have yet to see a hermie. I do not believe that flowering early induces any extra stress to a plant. IMO about 9 out of 10 people who talk shit about 12/12 from seed either have never tried it or never completed a 12/12 from seed grow because I read all the time that 12/12 from seed makes small stressed out plants that yield very little but from my experience I have averaged about 2-3 oz. per soil plant and 2.5 to 5 oz per plant in DWC. Del6666 grows exclusively 12/12 from seed and has success with every grow. I have some lemon skunk growing now that are about 8 weeks in at 12/12 from seed and are averaging 39" under a 600 watt HPS. 12/12 from seed is an extremely competitve method of growing when compared to any other method. That is coming from a guy that has actually grown 12/12 from seed not from a book where the author claims this and that but has stated he has never done it.

you have experience with it.. so iv got a question. whats the point of 12/12 from seed when they still veg for about a month or so wouldnt it be more productive to give them 18/6 or higher light times for a month and then switch to 12/12 and still end up taking the same amount of time but get a better harvest/plant?

Not sure about others, but I'm trying this now. My reasons are: (1) I'm new to growing and dying to see a yield; (2) I had another plant that I vegged for a couple months that needed to turn, but had also had a couple seedlings (cause I got overly excited after pulling a few from some good smoke); (3) space is at a premium, so smaller plants makes sense; (4) I'm just growing for personal use, so I don't need ounces and ounces off each plant; (5) it'll allow me to hone my growing more, as there will be greater turn-over with the plants; (6) I frequently buy seedy bud from dispensaries because it's cheaper and I want to collect/grow the seeds; and (7) I can run a small-scale perpetual grow.

Then again, those are my personal reasons for flipping the switch, so they're by no means ubiquitous.
