I've heard they are ridiculously fast for any car/truck. I have never seen, driven, or ridden in one. I will jump at the chance though.

The Lightning wasn't particularly fast. The Typhoon and its truck predecessor, the Syclone, were ridiculously fast for their day. cn

it sounds fast, but i always come back to one point and one point only.. why drive a truck when i can have a car? not a fan of sitting up high, no weight over the rear end, oversterring beast when i can have, well, a car?? no put off to any truck drivers, i just don't get it..

the one thing i will say good about trucks is that they all, well, in the olden days at least, tended to be a manual, which imvho is the only way any vehicle should be driven.. :D

The irony is that my only motor vehicle at this time is a Mazduh B2300. <edit: five-speed manual> It's not the most entertaining vehicle to drive ... unless you're into startlingly bad cornering and a propensity to engage the antilock in ordinary driving.
But I can bring home 4x8s of plywood, and i can cart six stinky cans to the dump. cn

But yeah. Not counting that '85 Crown Vic with a bad throttle control ... this truck is the least fun vehicle I've owned. It's also the one I've had the longest! There's something to a cheap vehicle, but with gas prices heading north even the 29-30mpg i eke out of the Poop Wgn are beginning to pinch. cn
