How long does your harvest last you?

if you grow more then you smoke, hash it. i still have stuff from a harvest from last october. hashed half, buttered some and have some sitting around for whenever, if it gets dry i can always turn it into hash or cook it. i smoke maybe a bowl a day, not a heavy smoker but love growing.

Also, if you don't smoke a lot and you'd like your stuff to stay fresh longer, store it in airtight jars in the freezer if at all possible in the house you live in. It'll stay fresh for up to 6 months or so at room temp in air tight jars, but heat (even fluctuations from winter room temp to summer room temp) will eventually start to degrade the resin. You'll notice that when you harvested it was all milky, but after a while it'll start to turn amber sitting in the jars. This is when you've left it too long or stored improperly.

My brother smokes a few times a year now that he has a kid, and he's kept a jar of my stuff well over a year in the freezer with nice milky white heads still. I'd freshen him up more often but I just don't get to see him all that much, so this technique works fine for him. Also, if you grow outside for personal use, the freezer method allows you to keep fresh until next season's chop. ;-)

Thanks for the info. Does anyone else store pot long term? Just trying to figure what to with it after a 6 month cure process.

Well my mate lost an oz for a couple of years behind his fridge and that was the tastiest weed I've ever encountered. High was incredible

Oh I know that feeling, I'm anxiously waiting on my next one to finish, and had to throw out a hermie last night to boot! i've also found that now that I grow my own other peoples weed just doesn't stack up to mine (commercial guys at least, I do have some buddies that grow as well and theres is always good)
And I know that feeling! lol - nothing commercially available is any cop round here (and that's when there is some). I also had to throw out some hermies - 3 kosher kush. Just glad I've got 3 massive sugar punch to make up for it - hoping for 3oz+ each from them. First one's still at least 4 weeks away from being ready though.

What is this mythical substance of which you speak? Properly cured bud??? ;-) Mine never lasts longer than 2 months - so I don't think I've ever tried mine properly cured. lol
I hear ya brother. But, I'm investing 4 months of my life caring for this crop. I want to protect and enhance my investment as much as possible. I posted a thread in the harvesting curing.

I usually get about 3 jars, each holding 2 zips (plus some which I dry fast in the airing cupboard). Jar 1 doesn't get cured much! Jar 2 gets about 3 weeks. Jar 3 gets 6 weeks! Then it's normally a month dry until the next crop is ready. We enjoy the break. So I guess we smoke just over a gram a day (me and misses) between us. I tend to change strains after about 3 grows (starting with a fem seed then cloning for next 2 runs)
I only run 250w (mh/hps), 1 or 2 plants but make the most of it with scrog and hydro. I do have a 600w set-up but haven't the space for it now. Stealth is vital to me. When I did run it I would just do 1 or 2 grows a year.

This thread is inspiring me to go perpetual. I have actually worked out a little veg space with CFL's for this current grow, as I had two extra sugar punch I wasn't prepared to destroy - so it's certainly possible. Hmm.

I veg my plants indoors and flower outside.. Once the temps warm up I harvest a pound every 30 days from 3 plants.. I always have a lot on hand. I used to think I was a big smoker but todays strains make me a real light weight !! I go thru 2 - 3 grams a week. I usually role a nice fat one that toke on and it lasts a couple of days. So the rest of my harvest gets put in jars. From there a few are sold to recoup costs. Lots is just given away to friends. "Share the Wealth!!" so to speak. The most rewarding thing I do is supply a few people I know going through rough times. Chemo, etc.. To keep my stash fresh in the jars for extended periods I use 62% Humidipaks in my jars. Once I get it dried down to 62% humidity I stick one in my jar and it stays fresh for a long, long time !! I still blow in the jars about once a month to provide a little CO2..

I wouldn't say I do perpetual in the meaning you say. I have a 1x2 veg/cloning cabinet with 2 cfl's (wattage changes depending upon What I'm doing but varies from 2x11w to 2x23w) and a heated base propogator that gets used for seeds and clones.
My main grow area is 2x2 more or less. It's in a 4x2 limited height (36" floor to ceiling cubboard) with the light concentrated over the LHS 2x2 area as a U-scrog. The RHS gets used for lower light plants and acclimatising.
Unfortunately, weed has to fight it out with other plants (mainly chillis) in my grows, but the tiny cab does cut it down a good 4 weeks compared to scratching/ starting again. Also new clones seem to prefer less light than seedlings. Sometimes it works for me to have a 23w on one side and an 11 on the other. What with that and different nute requirements, It all ends up being a balancing act.
It's a good learning experience though.

In your humour you have hit the nail on the head though. In some situations, something as simple as cfl in a desklamp can increase you turn-around time (hence yield) 25%.

I run 2 x 400w for me and my wife. Four to six plants per run..averageing about 3 zips per plant. We eat it in brownies and make green dragon, and smoke a couple grams a day. With the two lights I grow enough so we don't run out in between without going perpetual.
