Rookie CFL grower

Im looking to upgrade from my 300 watt CFL grow to better lighting. Sadly, I'm on a HUGE budget and cant blow stacks on my set up.

Would you guys recommend this light? do you think it would be beneficial to get the 96 watt LED in addition to my 300 watt CFLs?

if your going to get an LED get at least a 5th generation one with a spectrum specific for growing plants using 3w or better brandname bulbs

Aquarium lights are not designed to grow MMJ.

I advise you to spend a bit more on a light that is proven. Look around this forum for some of the bigger names, then check out the company websites. Spectral quality, intensity, footprint, quality components... if you spend a little more on a quality light, it will pay for itself and then some before you know it. If you buy something cheap, prepare to be disappointed.

Im not asking if it is the top choice out there, im aware it is not.

Im asking if this light will be beneficial at all being in an addition to 300 CFL watts....

Led's are not for a budget grower.......you have to spend money on a quality led grow light($300+)..you know what they say," you get what you pay for"....you could just add a few more cfl's in theseView attachment 2526552for better effect for the money and time spent on that led.GL.peace

To answer your question, in my opinion, it will not be beneficial enough to justify spending any money on it, particularly if you are on a budget. I would just stick with what you have and put that money towards saving for a better unit, or something else.

I saw the link and said a better option............why would buy an inferior made product with no warranty from some schmo off craigslist....when you could possibly make a better one yourself.......... no list on wattage per led.........its not worth it

This is true, but this guy could possibly build one with the spectrum he needs. They look pretty nice and clean. And if you are someone like myself, you would rather pay someone who knows what they are doing, than to do it poorly on your own and waste time and money. Depends on what he's charging though.

Yup totally wrong spectrum of lighting. Also the term LED and BUDGET dont go together. Here are some LED's I am using now to flower. You need more RED spectrum light in your LED to flower. I use the CFL's for vegging only.

Right now i am using the Vipar A100 LED panel along with a 200W 2700K CFL plus i will be adding tonight 2x23W 2700K CFL for the opposite side of the 200W. I am into my 3rd week of 12/12.
