Magnifying question.. please help

Im looking to get a magnifying glass and a shop here in town has one and its 3X is that the same as 30X?

No. It really is just 3 as opposed to 30. I could be wrong but I think you have to go to a scope of some kind to get 30x

Yea it's not in code or anything, it will say straight on it what it is. I do suggest you look into a 60x tho. I found it to be much better. Good luck in your search!

Havent seen em at Walmart or Future shop, Local grow shop yes! If they dont have it then tell them they are losing out on money and they should order some in.

I agree 60x magnification is the best for viewing trichromes.

Mine has both 60x and 30x...I've never used the 30x

These work pretty good, and for less than $4, you can't really go wrong.

I know a lot of people sware by those cheap Radio Shack pocket microscopes, but I can not stand them. If you can afford it, definitely go digital. For $100-$160 you'll get a good USB digital scope that really let's you see the details of the trichomes. However the higher magnification means you can only see a few trichomes at a time. So another nice item that I find hard to live without is a good high quality jeweler's loupe. The better brands of loupes show detail crystal clear, don't give you the upside down image, and have color corrected coating so you don't confuse cloudy vs clear vs amber. But the loupes are a lot weaker so use them to examine a wide area of leaf or nugs. Sometimes you don't need to see the trichomes, instead just looking at the overall color and ripeness through a loupe is enough.
