My point is still valid. Non mentally ill people dont go on murderous rampages for losing their job. Even if they are wronged, it happens everyday. This guy is the one who made it a life and death situation. It has nothing to do with koolaid. I don't deny that LAPD is corrupt as fuck, and that maybe he was wrongly terminated. But none of that justices killin innocent people. Sounds like you are drinking a different flavor of koolaid...the one where what he's doing is ok?
I don't think that anyone agrees with his having killed folks that must have been totaly innocent. People CAN be mentally ill and make decisions that are highly effective, they can plot and plan, they can see a world where everyone is an enemy and prepare for that enemy to attack.
It wasn't, apparently just his being fired though that must have been a part. I knew people who dreamed of doing something like this (they never did of course), LAPD attracts rather unsavory folk for whatever reason - I always viewed them as large children, as thugs, as the perfect opposite complement of the gangs they were paid to apprehend or control. They had parties for officers who discharged their weapons in the line of duty for the first time. Those I knew of quite well, I heard rumors of other parties for those who had made their first kill in the line of duty but I cannot vouch for those. This guy isn't all that much different than the officers I knew or knew of - except he went the other way.
