Growing in a spiral? Feedback wanted

So I'm bored at work and I have an idea to make my plants huge by growing them widder and as tall as I can in the space I got... I. Know people tie there plant down to make all the other buds shoot up n u got plenty of tops... what when in veggin I tie down then start aiming it in a circle path.. like when a new noad appear [growing up after tie down] tie it down and make it loop back around... and repeat. I know it will slowy creep up but that's what it needs to do anyway... one problem I thought I. Would have would be is getting light in the middle of the plant inside of the spirals.. I can make/find a glass cylinder that will fit around one of my 150watt cfls and get its own exuast to remove that heat fast but keep my lumens.. and ofcourse my hps and cfls will be surrounding the outside.... lmao.. just an idea? Am I a idiot or do you think this is possible....

good luck, its gonna take alot of patience but i think its a cool idear, i dunno if it will increase your yeild or anything but worth a shot

I think it will... it could be vegged for months could be 7/10ft tall and only be 3 ft .... I got kandy kush clones so there def females.. don't wana waste my time with a male.. I will be posting about this soon.. showing it off :} def guna be in like 5/10 gal bucket lol

Its the ultimate LST grow.. I thought about it to when my plant was smaller, and easier to bend. lol now im afraid to snap her..

But yea, thats the ultimate LST man, think about it, LST to the left on monday, and in a week, it will have straightened up, and grow a bit, so pull it over a little, let it straighten up, and do it again. LST over n over. Will be a long veg period.

Man, doing that, you might as well try to super crop it in a spiral!
I've always had that thought in my mind as well but never really got around to doing it.
That would be one gigantic spiral main cola you'd have if you keep the stretching at a minimum!
Damn, imagine that, a thick ass 7ft spiral cola... I probably wouldn't even want to smoke it and mount it on my wall as a trophy!
Well, but then again... It is weed :roll:

I feel like going all the way around more than once, would start to make it less effective,
unless you make sure the spirals are far enough to not block light.

The point in LST is to help under branches get more lighting... start covering the stalk with more stalk, n its not getting that direct lighting any more huhh

Id say go around once, then straight up. or out.

Orrrrr on the second time around, go wider than the first layer.

I second his theory. Maybe make the spiral into something like a cone?

Upside down cone with the top being open... if you star wide and get narrow as you get taller, you will eventually lock out light from getting inside the cone :D

If you go upside down, and go widder as you go taller, you can put a fat CFL right in the middle, and have in essence, a bowl effect with the light inside the plant haha


Im definitely trying this one with one of my 4 seedlings... lol.


If either of u get a chance before me, let me know how it goess.

Hell yeh... I can get air cooled clear cover for cfl to..... man I can't wait... and as long as you got good lights all around and inside of it I figure you should be good to go.... lmao. I'm excited to try it out.. imagine is you grow a cfl in the middle of it.. like put the bulb in and close the top back up.. grow it like a tootsie roll

nawwww, what would be ever better, top it really early, and have those two main colas go into spirals in different directions lol
