Police who can't be bothered to verify their targets open fire on two vehicles; two innocent people shot. The person they're looking for wasn't in either vehicle. Now I have to worry about getting gunned down by trigger-happy cops? From http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2013/02/ex-cop-manhunt-newspaper-delivery-women-shot.html : [h=1]Two women who were shot by Los Angeles police in Torrance early Thursday during a massive manhunt for an ex-LAPD officer were delivering newspapers, sources said.
The women, shot in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue, were taken to area hospitals, Torrance police Lt. Devin Chase said. They were not identified. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back, according to Jesse Escochea, who captured video of the victims being treated.
It was not immediately known what newspapers the women were delivering. After the shooting, the blue pickup was riddled with bullet holes and what appeared to be newspapers lay in the street alongside.

Local, state and federal authorities are involved in a massive search for Christoper Jordan Dorner, 33, a former Los Angeles Police Department officer who is believed to have threatened "unconventional and asymmetrical warfare" against police in an online manifesto, and was suspected of shooting three police officers, one of whom died, early Thursday in Riverside County.
Dorner also is suspected of killing a couple in Orange County earlier this week.
Sources said the Los Angeles police detectives involved in the Torrance shooting were on protective detail for a police official named in the suspect's supposed manifesto, which was posted on what authorities believe is his Facebook page.

A second shooting, involving Torrance police officers, occurred about 5:45 a.m. at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street in Torrance. No injuries were reported in that incident.
Chase said that in both instances police came across vehicles they thought were similar to the one Dorner is believed to be driving. Neither vehicle was Dorner's.

I was reading about this before... That's fucking shocking... How can they even open up on the car not knowing who's occupying it?

The is not the first incident I've read on trigger happy cops...

Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time with a blue truck. I would say these cops aren't trigger happy, but they should not have shot first and ask questions later. I would say that the shooting was more out of fear, any back fire or loud noises got the cops on edge. this guy they are looking for sounds like a bad ass dude. He has police and military experience.

Peace

There were over 30 holes in that truck, all in the rear. These cops didn't even look to see there was more people than they were looking for in the first vehicle they opened up on. Several people dumping entire magazines into a vehicle in a residential area without verifying their target; is pretty trigger happy in my book.

Like most cops in this country, these guys are bad at their job...sure, any asshole can write ticketss n harass people...but 90% of the cops in this country are not qualified to think fast n fire a weapon.

I believe one was cut on the hand by flying glass & the other was shot in the back. They had their headlights off but were merely delivering papers and are already talking to lawyers. people that live in the immediate area are saying they heard no I.D. or warning from the police......Just lots of gun fire. I'm curious to see how this turns out. It's a miracle that both weren't killed though.

few weeks back a driver stopped at red light with dog in back of truck, another dog attacks this 1 in back of truck. police arrive and can't get dogs apart, so, they shoot 1 with shotgun and the other 5 times with handgun. mind you this is in the middle of the intersection. guess a glass of water was unattainable.

I don't even know what to say about this statement it's bad enough we have to deal with these unpredictable LEO's but listening to cunts like you making excuses where none can be made doesn't help. I am sure this will make your pussy swell but it could be worse, like being fucking shot in back while working.

Water will work but so will mace or a stun gun. This is a clear case of incompetence using last resort tactics first. We're approaching a crossroads with our law-enforcement, we compensate them for making moral decisions in their duty and new technology is enabling us to see we have been made a fool.

Well in defence of the cops those dogs were probably gang affiliated they just didnt have their gang colors on they had to do what they had to do

After seeing this on the news and how the chief doesn't remember the details of firing this guy for whistle-blowing on police brutality and racism this looks odd. Then you add that they have no intention of capturing him without killing him first as you can see the number of bullet-holes in the truck. How the two women survived is truly amazing.

This is our government protecting us...

And they want to take our guns, for their protection of course...

Fucking cowards they shot at another innocent person that luckily survived.
The second shooting involved Torrance police officers, who were stationed nearby in the event LAPD needed them. When the officers heard the gunshots, they headed toward Redbeam Avenue.

At that point, a driver in another pickup truck that look similar to Dorner’s drove toward them on Flagler Lane near Beryl Street. Officers, suspecting it was Dorner, purposely collided with the truck and shot at him.
The driver wasn’t hurt, avoiding bullets that had ripped through his windshield.

I wonder who's going to have the higher murder count when this is all said and done.
