I just watched a HT video so I have a good idea of what to do. But wanted to ask you fellas this.
I just bought some "1 gro" bubble hash bags for my post harvest scraps. This is my first time trying bubble hash method. I have a bit of nuggets to throw in the mix So my question is really ..... Should I save all the leaf matter or just sugary ish? Can I use the stems if broken down good enough?? And should I wait till all of leaf matter is dry or can I start as soon as I chop down?

Sun leaves should be removed, along with stem material. You'll get better results if the product drys well first, and then throw it in the freezer for a bit just before you start......

I save only the trim which is really covered in trichs. I even trim the tips off of what I'm saving. The less "green matter" that you are using the better.

I dry mine for about 24 hours, then bag them up and put them in the freezer.

I know subcools name is dirt in the section of RIU, but he has a really good sticky on bubble hash making. Short concise videos, which are easy to follow along to.

I have stepped my hash game up by water curing my lowers and trim. You can remove a lot of chlorophyll, salts, and other undesirable stuff from the material that you don't want in your hash by doing this first. I soak everything in a 5 gallon bucket for about 4-5 days, changing the water every 24 hrs. You will be amazed at all of the shit that will leach out of the buds/trim each time you change the water. The more stuff you can purge from the material prior to making the bubble hash, the more pure your end product will be.

His shit does look awesome. I watched a vid of his, and he uses the bubble machines (glorified washing machine), so he kind of lost me as I use the bubble bags.

Honestly, the end result is too strong for my liking. I have to go lay down after smoking it .... room spinning and all. My patients love it though! I'll stick with the flowers.

You still use the bags with the machine Stow...........its just to use instad of a drill and paint mixer or something like that. He says that using a drill chops stuff way too much and pollutes the end result.

I only smoke to go lay down and sleep anymore, so thats why I love them :). I'm going to make so much bho and ice hash its stupid in a couple weeks :weed:.

Fresh frozen gets the best quality. Drying/freezing material will cause contaminants, as the plant matter is more brittle and will crumble to a size small enough to make it through the screens.

You are saying not to dry the trim for 24 hrs, just bag it and freeze it?
How do you like the bubble machines?

Yes Glad, I freeze my cutting right away and trust me you get way better product in the end. Take your sugar leaf as soon as you cut it and freeze it.

EDIT: @ Rare, it seems to lock more plant matter(Chlorophyll) in by freezing right away. I get way less green in my hash when doing that...Just a side note.

this is a '2' man "dance" as one cannot possibly lift 32 gal trash can alone... safety tip: wear back brace!

--1 man 'spins'......
--1 man dances with the bags in "horsey stance" martial arts position-....for 8-10 hrs-

get -7-10 black plastic trash bags 'full' of --dry-- trim material..........no stems /sticks -

i set [8bagset] 20gl bubblebags....

one and half pickup truck full of crushed ice......

line up 8..32gl new trash containers....

distribute trash bags evenly in 7 cans....half full with 'dry' material each can....leaving one empty can-
---repeat 2-3 times or until trash bags are empty--- might take 2-3 ...8 can runs....w 7-10 'full' black trash bags of dry material

fill trash containers with water 2/3...top off with crushed ice...

using 1/2inch drive black decker drill with wide paddle bit for mixing mud....

proceed to start with first barrel.... mixing drilling water and ice and adding ice as as needed ...until 'funnneling' is reached

once you have a nice frothy foam from the funneling continue to spin material for 15-20 minutes....

take material that has been funneled 15-20 minutes.....

stretch bubble bags from smallest to largest over empty can--

pour material thru bubble bags 32 gallons at a time from lowest grade to highest grade....and recycling green material back into next garbage can....

tossing everything aside but the smallest micron bags as this is the stickiest--keep food grade if you like-


repeat all 8 cans 2-4 times each.....or until 'pancake' of hash gets smaller....and smaller...after 2-3 run...you decide-or back gives out--

keep 2finest grade material separate -

repeat process until all material is 'used--

keep stickiest material from smallest bag as this will be a small basketball sized sticky gooey ball...by end of a full day-

press thru coarse grade screen material to facilitate drying and spread out on cardboard beer trays to dry....with small fans

use headlamps to finish work as it will take a full 8-10 hr day--

i may take heat for this but i use dried cured bud and trim(separate batches) and then freeze it for at least 24hrs, sometimes longer. like someone else said, clip off anything yellow or damaged, or green with little resin. for buds i break them down to there smallest brackets. no stems or small sticks., just tiny little beads. i use the machine now too and i flippin love it! after 8+ years of hand mixing, it was my reward. as far as fresh(live) hash being better quality than cured or just dried(dead) hash, thats up to the maker, and there tastes. lower yields with the live but you get different smells, flavors and high. sometimes the only way to tell is to smoke it, it is one magical plant after all. live hash has a unique taste thats for sure. i use to use a ounce per 5 gallon run so i can calculate my returns, 10-15% hand mixing is pretty good imo. with the machine you get a lil more, maybe 15-20%. rarely above that for me. if i were you, start with only trim runs, and maybe small loose buds. that way if you fck shit up its only trim your wasting and not precious bud! good luck

yep. Just toss the trim in zip locks, freeze for 24 hours, then run it. That is the way I used to make my highest quality bubble back in the day in small batches. Been at least 3 years since I've run any bubble myself.

The machines are great, but not necessary. Get a small washing machine that agitates in both directions, and you're set.

Rare D is there any special reasoning behind that method? i use to do that too but i end up with enough trim after awhile and some has to wait and cure, which made me start curing it all first. not sure if i thought it made it taste better, or just because of the time issues that i stayed with it? its been so long its just habbit now.

I freeze mine, but then soak it for an hour or so before adding to ice and agitating. The soak seems to prevent what you're talking about.
