I'm back; Hashberry/Lockdown, LSD, Purple Haze & Pineapple Express

It's been a while. Had a couple of car accidents and motorcycle crash that took me offline for a bit but I'm back with a vengeance.

This first post is going to be a little long as I consider it my “setting the stage” post. I’m going to try growing four separate strains at the same time in a 2x4 tent with a 600w HPS. Might be a bit of an overload, we’ll see.

Hashberry/Lockdown (see more on strains below): This is actually a decedent from my very first grow back in 2006. I had multiple power outages, including one for 2 weeks and the stress caused my plants to hermie. One of the Hashberrys produced some seeds and the plants that resulted had traits of both the Hashberry and Lockdown. I’ve been keeping a mother of this plant ever since and it’s probably my favorite strain. Wife calls it Yoga Weed because it makes her want to stretch.

Barney Farms LSD: This is the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] mother I’m currently keeping.

Here’s a photo of my two mothers.


They are looking a little weird because I just did a huge prune on them a couple of weeks ago. My mother cabinet is just a cheap 36x24x15 cabinet I got from Home Depot. PC fan is used for air circulation and lights are a 2x14 T5 fixture (one 3000k and one 6500k bulb). Both are housed in AirPots which have really helped with long term growing. The Hashberry/Lockdown on the left has been in the same pot now for over two years.


I took a cutting of each and had them in the seedling chamber for about a week. I moved them to their final pots on 12/26 and put them in the vegging chamber.


My seedling/vegging cabinet is another Home Depot special except this one is 72” tall. I use the top portion of the cabinet as my seedling chamber. It’s setup with a 2x14 T5 fixture (one 3000k and one 6500k bulb) and a heating pad. The bottom portion of the cabinet is my vegging chamber. It’s setup with a 3x55 T5 fixture (one 2700k and two 6500k bulbs). Both sections again use PC fans for air circulation. Both cabinets are in a cool/damp portion of the house and don’t need any other cooling.


In the seedling chamber I’ve have two seeds going. I started sprouting them using the paper towel method on 12/26 and moved them into Rapid Rooter today 12/30. The two seeds are both from G13 labs, Purple Haze & Pineapple Express.


I’ll probably run like this for another week or two. Once I move the Hashberry/Lockdown & LSD into my flower tent I’ll move the Purple Haze & Pineapple Express into the vegging chamber.

Nutrients
I'm using Fox Farms pretty much across the board. I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest for soil, their trio of fertilizers Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom per their directions. Water is from our private well. Later during flower I'll also use a couple of their supplements, Beastie Bloomz and Cha-Ching.

Man, what is going on with images this week. One day they're good and the next they're broken. May have to start using outside photo hosting though I hate doing that.


Seedlings are coming along nicely. I'll move them to soil once I have another set of leaves.

Shot of them in their cab. My lights may not look pretty but they do the job. DIY special using 3x55w compact T5s. These are a weird bulb that are hard to find but they put out almost as many lumens as a 4' T5 (4,800 vs 5,000) but they are only 21" long.

The problem with most commercial units is that they are usually 24" long. The cabinets I use are from Home Depot and are also 24" long but once you subtract out the thickness of the walls, you're left with only 22.5" inside the cabinet making it to small for commercial units.

I basically just took one of the shelves that came with the cabinet, shaved off 1/2 inch from the length to make it easier to move and mounted ballast on one side and reflectors and bulbs on the other.

Hey brotha I got drug over here from another thread! I currently have G-13 purp haze in a jar smoking on it, and I currently have an LSD "second grow" in my flower room, and I grew out P/E 3-4 times last year! All in FFOF and running all 6 FF nutes! LOL

I am not impressed at all with the LSD! The first grow I actualy cut it down 4 weeks into flower, she just looked like she was having a real PH problem, bent leaves just not a strong grower. So I figured it was the bean? I saw an LSD in someone elses grow that inspired me to start another one. Well she is also at 4 weeks and just not comming along. I had two clones that I tossed, I am going to finish off the mom and call it a day. It may also be the batch of beans that I got? I hope that is the case for you, cus we are running similar setups! Keep an eye on the LSD my man, I hope you have better luck than I did! Ill be sub'd up to see how ya do man if ya don't mind!

Damn dude, grow some Hashberry and you'd be my doppelganger. I agree with you about the LSD, see below.

So here's an update on the plants.


Here's the seedlings. Growing slow but about what I expected since they are only under 2x14w T5

Here's the clone, also coming along well. Except that the LSD is being fucking weird again.


Look how kinked/deformed some of the leaves are. Had the same issue the last time I grew it (from seed, this is a clone descendant of the original plant). I took a cutting of the LSD right before I flowered it and grow out a mother. LSD is my secondary mother (Hashberry/Lockdown is my primary mother) but I basically kept an LSD mother to see if I could do better with it a second time around.

My last grow I was using Air-Pots and they dry out real quick. Miss a watering and the plant was in trouble. My Hashberry/Lockdown always bounced right back but the LSD wouldn't and the yield wasn't very good. This time around I'm using standard pots to see if I have better luck.

I'll probably take a cutting from both the Purple Haze and the Pineapple Express before I flower them. Depending on how the grow goes, I may make one of them my secondary mother.

Hmm that is interesting, maybe it is FF and LSD that don't mix? I use RO water but I add cal mag before putting in gallons. I have seen some realy good looking LSD's on this site, I'm wondering if they were growing in FFOF and using the FF nutes? Ill do some looking into, I have one more LSD bean and if I have to just grow it in different soil ill grab a bag and give it another try!

Yeah bro I have found nothing but bad things about LSD! I am going to scrap the LSD dream and give away my last seed if someone else wants to chase the dream. No worries plenty of other great strains out there to try and grow. Have you ever tried Sannies Seeds? I garantee you can't find an experianced grower that will say a bad word about Sannies genetics! I have grown his Herculies, Killing Fields, Sugar Punch, Kolossous and currently growing his Mad Shack. I am flowering a LST'd Mad Shack right now that is a monster bush! I will get pic's if your interested? His herculies and sugar punch are my fovorites so far! The sugar punch is a sative dom great up smoke but long finisher. Herculies is a nice 9 weeker that will pack on some weight! And the smoke is really good! Maybe check him out for your next order, Sannies just upped his shipping if you want it garanteed. It's the same as the attitude, I think people were ripping off Sannies. Saying they weren't getting their seeds when they were.

Hey hey brotha got some pic's today. I've been getting high as shit every day all day so not getting alot done! LOL Here is my Mad Shack that I LST'd, took me about 10 min total time to train this girl like this and added about 2-3 weeks veg time for her to get where I wanted her B4 flower. You can LST plants and they don't need more than a day to just adjust their leaves and you can flower them then! But I am fucking with longer veg times to see what is going to happen to my yields!

So here she is, don't let the pic's fool you, at her widest point she is 3 feet wide! She is 4 weeks into flower, I am thinking she is going to be a 9 weeker.


Here she is next to my Blueberry bubblgum, The BBBG on the right is going to put out at least 2.5! the second picture is of my Mad Shack next to my shit ass LSD! LOL I think yesterday I thought about just tossing that fucker! I was smoking and passing judgement, but I had already took down one plant, and if I didn't have a hermie problem and loosing 5 plants in flower id probably have cut it down. The hermie problem was from a guy that gave me some beans, Hawian Skunk, Purp Dream (Still have one) but he didn't quite tell me they were hermie pollen until they were all about one foot tall! so no worries, chop em down and keep it moving! So the LSD lived for a little while longer! I really hope it is a good smoke!



Also man you should really give Sannies a shot! He isn't like the Attitude, if you have problems with his beans, he will help you or replace that shit! Also his genetics are Strong! I know if I order some herculies beans from him today they will grow exactly the same as the ones I grew 2-3 years ago. I am ordering his Anesthesia next for sure! Later homie!

Clones are doing good. They've had about a week to establish roots so I expect them to start taking off. Hope to throw them in the flower cab next weekend. As usually, the Hashberry/Lockdown is turning into a bush.

Never had a problem with FFOF being to hot man! What are you spraying them with? And are you keeping up with your PH? I see some leave twisting a little and your lower leaves on your Hashberry, and LSD look damaged/wierd to me. they also looked damp with the light on. If you are spraying while the lights are on I would highly advise you not to, unless you are using Dutch master Saturator. That shit is amazing, and I am in love with their Reverse, but that is a different post. I have a little burn on my leaves also on my PurpTrinwreck, But I am thinking that when I pulled them out from under the light to spray them I put them back to soon they weren't dry all the way, and the tips of the leaves had chems still on them or that is where the Chems all gathered and burned the plant? It was Green Cure for my Powdery Mildew control. Just some thoughts brotha

What's going on with the leaves? I just took a pic of my little ones for someone else, and I also wanted to show ya my leaf twisting on some of my little grils, I was thinking it was a ph problem somewhere? I watered the shit out of them and they bounced right back. Here is a pic you can see it on the middle one on the right I think, little bit of leaf twist and damage.
