well if you bred a 100% indica with a 100% sative the offspring would come out anywhere in between, with the most common being around 50/50, 40/50. the flowering time would depend on the phenotype itself, i.e if it was a 10/90 sativa dominant phenotype it would still have that rediculessly long flowering period. if it was mostly indica dom it would have the 8 week flowering period. if it was 50/50 then it would prob have a 8-10 week period...so you cant just breed a sativa into a indica hoping to get mostly sativa plant with a shorter flowering period.hey this topic was always an interest to me and what if u took a nanner from one of your indica doms and touched it on the most sativa"ish" plant, like say just a nugget. What traits would this seed mostly take up? Anyone know? Hybrid ofcourse and would it still take like 100 days lol or take on the say 55-65 day flower period? If you happen to have a sativa kickin around thats in flower and you rub some pollen on a nug like the reply above then you may create the next cup winner lol just saying ya never know or atleast your own unique shit to try for a while who knows i use to mess around back in the day just goofing with bagseeds from high school hahahaha i even had seeds from this pine weed that got ya super cooked back in the early 90's i wonder what strain that was called anyway? was super raunchy as fack too,any ideas?
to breed right theres alot of selecting and growing and selecting and growing and back crossing and foward crossing and growing and picking and growing....to get that perfect phenotype your looking for and turn it into a mother plant to do your final stage breeding with. sometimes it can take upwards of 5 years to get them perfect phenotypes, and even then theres still a chance recessive traits come out on offspring.
