See... we need a formula for wpsf in LED terms.. actual watts may not mean jack ^^^umol is the only surefire way to measure as of now...
Exactly.

w/sq ft is an old method of calculating requirement and as you say it means nothing in the end, it's just an approximation. Especially when you consider that PAR readings are taken in uMoles/square meter/second. So the whole w/sq ft thing is so yesterday ;)

For the CL lights, they have released exact PAR readings for the lights so we don't need a w/sq ft formula for LED when we get the exact PAR readings anyway.

But for comparison's sake, let's do it anyway!

Look at this PDF at page 21 then page 25: http://www.frankfcg.com/CLW_Pres.pdf

A canopy placed 18" directly under the center of a SS400W would receive about 922 uMoles/sq m/s of PAR.

The SS400W draws 320W of power

That is 2.88 uMoles/sq m/s of PAR generated per watt consumed at 18" from center of the light.

Now use that to plug it in the table I posted above and you can get an approx. value in w/sq ft if you know how much a particular HPS light emits in either LUX or FC since you know a HPS has 0.12 uMoles/sq m/s of PAR per 1 FC.

Damn, and there was just a guy flipping a couple dirt cheap on eBay.. Been trying to wait and see what the "latest and greatest" is going to be but there are just some you should pull the trigger on.

Been lookin at Mag+'s as well; seem to be the two LED's going head to head (about the same time of release, draw, size, etc.). Always seems like this is happening.. Bstar-PG, Apollo-Area51, yea?

I was reading about silica yesterday and am curious to know how much of a difference it makes? I know this is what Rhino Skin is so it'll be part of my nute regimen, but do experience growers vouch for silica additives (doesn't have to be AN)?

I started adding silica blast to myfeeding lineup after doing some research and am happy with the results. Stronger, sturdier plants now for sure.

I already got the Rhinoskin so I'm covered but the book made it out to be a miracle substance which I could not remember reading in any grow journals.

No, just grandmaster + carboload
You didn't get any of the hobbyist, expert, or professional level nutes? I think that's a huge mistake...

Out of ANY of the sets, I would reccommend the hobbyist level package the most. Voodoo juice, Big bud, and Overdrive are pretty much my favorite additives...

You did get the Sensi Grow and Sensi Bloom nutes, right?

I meant I got everything up to grandmaster + carboload

I didn't get kushy kush, sensi cal,wet betty, revive, B-1, ancient Earth, No Shock, mother earth, iguana juice, jungle juice, juicy roots or any grandma products

I got everything else

If you'd rather see a list of what I did get:

Sensigrow AB for veg
Connoisseur AB for bloom
B-52
Voodoo
Big Bud
Overdrive
Piranha
Bud Candy
Final Phase
Tarantula
Nirvana
Sensizym
Bud Ignitor
Rhino Skin

ROFL...

Ok... statement retracted. :D

You will have muchos luck with that lineup, just makes sure to use them sparingly. The directions on the side of the box are complete bullshit.

It puzzled me why carboload was not included in the grandmaster package or at some other level. You're expected to spend all that money on those bacteria packaged in tarantula, pirahna, and voodoo, but they don't think adding some food so these colonies can stay healthy is important?

So you are telling me that if you developed a living, microbe organism tea or solution to keep a res clean and bacteria free; that you would include the "food to keep them healthy," try alive- these slowly diminish over time, becoming null and useless.

By day I deal with contracts
Well..You obviously do not have a grasp on how to market products... weed is so expensive in certain areas because it is so hard to get...natural flux of economics.. general logic.

If you want to sell more Microbe Solutions, you don't push the "food" to keep them alive, together or seperate from the 'crobes- depending on which has the larger Profit Margin (Microbe tea or food), they are either going to push one, or the other- never both.

If need be, Dawg gave me a killer Microbe Tea Recipe that you can make pennie's on the dollar, literally.. that should last you for quite some time. But know, you need to use an airstone to keep the "Benny's" brewing and alive- and the solution is only good for app 8-10 days- because these diminish... and die...

Thats the only reason they can get away "market" their products, they know you are going to have to come back in X amount of days to buy more Microbes- instead of making your Bennie Solution last 3 times as long using a feeding regime to let them thrive a bit longer, thus cutting costs and corners- and screwing them out of their market.

EDIt: let me revise this a bit.. sounded a little shitty after I had read it back. They just wouldnt commit that kind of business suicide upon themselves.

It's like why don't phone's always come with cases?

Another blatant, more ballsy example of this would be the new iPhone 5 charge port.

they're not exclusive products, they work in synergy together. It just happens that carboload doesn't appear in any program. The program only requires two applications for tarantula and piranha, adding daily carboload top-off would just make sense :) They'd only have to gain if they pushed carbo load in their programs. People would still buy the others.

It's like they ignored it in the new program (it wasn't in the old)

Day 4

One seed is opened and growing strong, the other has just started to open, I expect because of the lack of water.
