Do Some Dam Research

^^^^That was on my mind the whole time I was looking thru this lol. Dam it! hahahahha :joint:
But he makes a point in my opinion..I started my first grow just throwing some bag seed in the ground after a half ass research stint, and it got me NO WHERE FAST.
I know what it's like to be looking at a piece of shit after two month lol and it ain't no fun.

Wise words to ANYONE would be to plan before you do this...Becuase if you do end up with a girl from a bagseed, you'll be pissed off you neglected taking the time to plan

i honestly came to this site a total fuckin noob on growin of course i did my research and i mean i fuckin read for weeks upon weeks from it all, it was nothin compared to trying to do it yourself and keep up learning after even now watching how they grow and react to things, but cmon i dont get why you would start this thread cuz alot of people like you push people away form the site and what the fuck i see people like you around with a responce to simple question or questions ( that i know to myself now form learning) exactly like go google or use the search bar, wen all it takes is alil TLC... im not here to bash on you and make u an asshole this thread is doing it as people watch

Wouldn't you say, that if a plant is in the ground for several months and it isn't over a foot tall, that asking for help now proves one thing: they didn't do shit for research?

See, the problem I have with this line of thinking, especially in the plant problems forum, is you totally simplified the entire experience of growing. You also neglected the one of the major benefits of coming together in fora: experimentation for future improvement. I myself enjoy toying with the various lighting options, mixing it up with PAR T5 and LED, I've done cfls as well. And another thing, you're presumptuous tone belies a bourgeois attitude about this endeavor: you presume the growing of a plant is totally a maximize yield, maximize potency game that has one way to be dialed in. Some people know that HIDs are the best way to grow, but can't get that dough together to put up a top rate operation; I'm all for the industrious pioneer spirit that enables people to get on and get by; when they run into trouble trying their crazy things, I'm happy to throw my two cents in to try and help them succeed. You never know when a horticulture principle you've come across might be applicable to someone in these plant problem fora. Or, take this seriously: if you didn't have the cash for some meds that you needed, and you knew you could grow em instead, wouldn't you try to scrape it by even if it meant struggling with keeping environment and nutrient all in check? Furthermore, not everybody knows his or her genetics, can't look up a log or history because its bag seed; these fora constitute a place where we can start to assemble that knowledge, index it, and then toolbags like yourself can come on here and snipe information to hone yourskills with no desire to give back to the community.

see how many people jumped on what is essentially a whiney ass complaint veiling self-aggrandizement: "Ugh, there are like totally too many newbs on here not researching enough; i walked twothousand miles uphill both ways to get my grow knowledge." sometimes people learn best by failing as well, hard-on. And communicating about their failures make them understand the concepts they wouldn't get from just reading shit online.

temper your thoughts, think of the other guy, aim for humility, just try to help your brother
peace
take it easy

I have no issues with folks asking for help, what I hate most on here are two things. I have been on this site under a different name for about 5 years and it's the people who post "it is done yet?" in the harvesting section and people who double and triple post threads of the same question in different sections. Those folks just annoy the hell out of me, but it's their right to post the question. Just because I think it's dumb doesn't mean it is for them. But those double and triple folks can go to hell.

yup thats a cal/mag def ;-)
Thank u. I thought it might be that. Should I play some music in the room to fix that? I've never researched that, but since u r so kind maybe u can point me in the right direction. Because asking questions is most definitely a part of research.

Okay, I’ve read through the all of the posts. There seems to be the common complaint on here about me pissing people off because of point(s) I made about inexperienced people making AVOIDABLE errors. If you re-read what I’ve said, I’m not criticizing the common grower who runs into unexpected problems or who is experimenting with a new idea or growing technique.

I’m talking about the person who has a 10” (or smaller) plant that has been in a pot for months. The plant’s leaves are dying, the stems are weak and failing, and there are no buds to be found. If RIU Members want to cater to these kinds of growers, they will run people in circles with bad advice because they won’t tell this grower to go back to school and learn the basics, FIRST!

Go ahead and read that Thread. Mr. Ganjas were trying to help this guy SAVE this plant(s)!!! I would tell this guy or gal, yank the fuckers and start over!! Don’t waste your valuable time, energy, and money on a death wish!! And, give this person a good, solid link, where they can read how to start and finish a grow.

In the end, this new grower will thank someone for the rebuke and the tossed plants.

when i first started growing it didnt even occur to me that i would need to do research. It wasnt till i had my first issue that i though..."hmm lets see what the internet has to say" i searced and with little to no luck i found this site and posted my verry first newb question.

everyone has to start somewhere man. and not everyone considers growing mj as big of a deal as most of the people on this site do. Its a plant and alot of us see it as just that. its not like were growing the jesus of plants and if we let one down or die were going to be condemmed to a lifetime of hell, no we just start over.

after my first problem i joined the forums and i have learned alot here but not everything i have learned has been from research...probabally 75% of what i have learned has been throug convorsations with other members via forum posts.

so that being said m8, if you dont like the newb questions dont answer them...simple as that. if you want to contribute to the RIU community then you can give a hand and help a newb out.

i was in a thread the other day that is exactly like the thread you described in your original post. gave the guy some advice told him to get a decent light and he did. he is on his way to growing better herb now without all the hassle of trying to find the :right answer" in the vast ocean of misconstrewed information on the internet.

on that thread there were other newbs telling him it was all kinds of shit but the guys with actual knowledge stepped in told the other newbs to piss off and helped him out...that my friend is what this site is all about.

I have helped numerous people on this site and some i can even call a friend now. almost all of them started off with little to no knowledge and i worked with them day by day and they ended up with thier first sucessfull grow...that my friend is what this site is all about.

so take your pissing and moaning elsewhere because most of us dont want to hear it. what bothers me/us the most is people giving wrong information and thats all part of being on the internet.

I disagree. That's like saying, rebuild an engine but don't learn how.
i just replaced the engine in my truck, never done it before and never read anything on it. jumped into it, came across a few problems. reserched them when i came across them.....truck was up and running in 4 days start to finish and that was with putting all new gaskets in the new motor.

so again i say.....good day.

If you, Mr. Ganga, want to help others grow and learn, then why in the hell don't you tell them, "Read the Manual", FIRST? Shit, I just don't understand experienced growers running people in circles with AVOIDABLE problems. There are basics to the method, and 1 of those basics is a 10" plant that is 3 1/2 months old is the result of NOT DOING YOUR HOMEWORK!!!

And, I'll piss and moan, just like you are!!
