I know amazing, right? my wife would do the same thing.. funny thing is the .38 is her bedroom gun... shit....need to upgrade..perhaps replace it with a samurai sword....thought about it.....
I cant believe that guy dint go down. She did good though. Her husband was on the phone while it happened, screaming at her to keep shooting.

What i think is totally stupid is how people are panic buying ammo. I mean yeah assault rifles may be banned again but i got mine so im not to worried, what pisses me off is when I want to go shoot my assault rifle and I have to reload my own ammo for it. Im not dumb enough to pay a dollar per round especiually when a day of shooting for me is a 500 round day and that's just for my Sig 556. I really hope people do not believe that .223 remington is going to be banned or that 7.62X39 will be banned these are popular hunting calibers and have been for many many years. I actually went shooting today, spent 2 hrs on my Bday making 100 match rounds, my rifle was not to fond of them and untill i fix the wobble in my handguards I may continue to have this problem. here are the pics from today, targets at 100 yds using 3-9x42 scope

I can sympathize with you, as well as a lot of others opinion, and yes 30 rounds may be excessive, but it is practical as I said before, in some aspects....some people spend all day on the range dropping prairie dogs and thats with the 30 clips, coyotes, foxes, these things are fast, this is just an example...the thing is, if we are speculating what if?.....what if said jared loughner, had 12 different pistols with 10-16 round magazine strapped to him?, perhaps even more would have died, with legal clips... so you tell me is this the beginning stages of an all out ban? IMO YES, because it will never end... people will continue to die by any type of gun so eventually they will say ok no more guns at all.....they have to start somewhere.....
i don't know about that.

jared loughner's massacre was only stopped when he had to reload, they tackled him as he went for another 30 rounds.

if the 10 round mag limit were still in place, the massacre would have been mitigated greatly. the only downside i can see is the very slight inconvenience to target shooting practice.

i think the lives we could have saved trump that slight inconvenience to target shooters.

the cost of "12 different pistols with 10-16 round magazine(s)" would have been a huge deterrent. that's all i want, a deterrent. we'll never stop all of these, we can reduce some, mitigate others, and outright prevent a few though.

keep in mind that the camel's nose you say is under the tent has quite the slope to it, and if it's anything like my dog's nose, it's probably pretty slippery too. i reject those types of arguments.

i don't mind slightly inconveniencing your prairie dog collecting if it means that someone can tackle the shooter before he takes out my kid.

Hipoint handguns run under 300$, for the price of the ar i HAD i coulda got 5 of them.

I dont know anything about camels on ice.. is that a disney thing ??

it wasnt all that many generations ago when your kid out with his dog and a rifle was a normal and completely acceptable thing. and, he probly woulda been one a hell of a shot.

when did it become acceptable to think of guns as a bad thing?

you're just making my point for me now.

how many unemployed lanzas and loughners could afford that kind of weapon, much less several of them?

I dont know anything about camels on ice.. is that a disney thing ??
it's an allusion to the common refrain of paranoid gun junkies, "the camel's nose under the tent". i categorize it as a slippery slope and discount it thusly as logical fallacy.

i still view that as completely acceptable, despite the allusion to the mythical green acres/andy griffith era. do you suck so badly that you need an AR 15 to take out a deer though?

when did it become acceptable to think of guns as a bad thing?
i still don't view guns as a bad thing necessarily, but i did change my mind recently. it wasn't after columbine, it wasn't after virginia tech, it wasn't after the tucson massacre or the aurora massacre.

i finally decided to actually make the case for common sense gun safety after a couple dozen kindergarteners and their teachers were wiped out by a gun toting bitch who was too incompetent to lock her gun stash from the kid she was trying to have committed. that one shook me deep, as it did most people.

and he killed not a single person that i'm aware of.
mass stabbings all the time in china that do end in death....and no guns for civilians..A ban would just force gravitation to the next weapon of choice, that is "legal"..... it wont end with the high capacity magazines and ar15.....so then what is the solution? naturally accounting for current government logic, everything must go.... lets just forget the ban, and start banning sales from phizer and prescription meds or all the other "legal" drugs like tobacco and alcohol and carcinogenic materials allowed to be consumed by us all, with government consent.. would that mitigate some deaths in the USA? I think it would far surpass all the deaths involving firearms, including war deaths, period, what are we more willing to sacrifice? that is my point...... nothing personal to u Buck...

i make the decision to kill myself with cigarettes. your son does not make the decision to be slaughtered in his kindergarten classroom by a 30 mag AR15. don't even try to equate the two.

and when was the last time you heard of a knife massacre in the states?

the second amendment will ensure that your right to bear arms is never fully infringed. i reject your slippery slope. guns will NEVER be banned here. ever.

however, if you would like to discuss how outdated that amendment is, i will be glad to have that discussion. back then, they could protect the security of a free state with cannon balls and muskets and bayonets and horses. nowadays, we have nukes and tanks and chemical warfare.

and militias went out of style with buggy whips, my friend.

well, this is just playing right into my hands again. thank you.

ya know what we've done about drunk driving? common sense safety measures. laws. fines. jail.

ya know what has happened as a result? drunk driving fatalities were mitigated, prevented, and reduced (and by huge margins!).

i really dont know how the hell you guys break a post up like that...

financial status has no bearing on a person who wants a gun, anyone in a city can attest to this im sure, probly for cheaper than the 300$ highpoint.

again, i dont know anything about slippery slopes.. i wear cleats....

I would never hunt a deer with a AR, jus not the right tool for the job. however that string of cans i got set up dont stand a snowballs chance in hell....
and blue helmets, russians (wolverines !!, the real shit, not this new remake crap) and any other invading force (I am after all a member of the unorganized militia).

im sure you would have a slightly different view of the world had you been there... i was, this is my 174th life....

the level of crazy thats in this world is astronomical.. my mother watches a bunch of court tv and case files shows, i catch them occasionally when im there. im always dumbfounded by the people the stories are about. its a never ending supply of twisted fukn people man, they kill each other over the stupidest shit. the guns arent the problem. really. You all are projecting your emotion outburts at a inanimate object that doesnt think, doesnt influence, has no will whatsoever.

i know the bleeding hearts want to blame something, to try and explain it, to tell themselves that it could have been prevented. that they can protect everyone all the time. that just isnt so. and if they are honest with themselves they know it.

people are the problem, there is a certain percentage of the population that is really fucking unstable, and it doesnt take much to set off a perfectly normal appearing person.
the mother here is at fault. for being irresponsible with accessible firearms around a person she KNEW was fukd in the head. It was her inaction that led to that.

* disclaimer - no russians were harmed in the creation of this post. all firearms safety precautions are followed. The one incident with the pyrotechnics explosion is under internal review.

voluntary buyback programs are met with huge success. that can and does mitigate or prevent or deter the problem.

And all of the people who already own Ar15 and ak47 style rifles..not to mention Mexico.. do they magically disappear off the face of the planet and they are somehow no longer able to commit these heinous crimes with them?
those guns are pointless for anyone who does not need to caress their ego, inflate their sense of self importance, or take out enemy troops en masse, but they will be harder and harder to come by as time goes on. they'll still be out there, but it will be less likely that some irresponsible mother leaves hers unsecured such that the mentally unstable son who she is trying to have committed is able to so easily access it and mow down a class full of kindergarteners.

hell, there's a reason why we put our valuable items in a safe.

i would even be all for some people being allowed to legally have them and buy them, just not every tom, dick, or harry.

No, so this ban is pointless....because its happening now with as many guns that are on the street and legally owned, the numbers wont go down... so what is the real solution?
that's the logical fallacy right there.

because it is not 100% effective, it is therefore not effective in any way and thus pointless.

retarded logic if i've ever heard it (no offense, really).

there are laws against murder, but it never stops anyone from murdering, does it? since it will never stop all the bad stuff, we might as well just throw murder laws off the books, right?

there will never be any 100% solution that stops all gun violence and keeps all our kids safe at school. ever. never ever ever. neverevevervevernevervevevrvevrvnever.

but, like we've done with drunk driving deaths, we can reduce them with common sense laws. no bans.
