What is the point in Auto Flowering Plants ?

My veg and flower tents are the same size so I have a little extra room in my veg tent that I occasionally throw an auto or 2 in just for a little variety That's the only real advantage I can think of... lol! Other than that most of the advantages can be accomplished by goin 12/12 from seed I would think Never done that though!

If only it were true.I have always grown from normal beans but decided to try a seed from a pack of royal queen NL I had collecting dust.It is 3 1/2 feet tall and 8 weeks from seed, still looks to have minimum 3 weeks-That is being generous.Yes it is going to yeild great but if you are thinking about growing an auto for a quick bit of bud, do research on which strain!

while vegging photos you can have a whole life cycle of an auto or 2, that's what i am doing, so i will have some smoke when i flip my photo's.

Dude I been trying to figure THAT one out myself. I MIGHT be able to see them for outdoors, but indoors? Not so much. I've never smoked an auto (to my knowledge) but introducing Ruderalis genetics just SOUNDS like a bad thing to me. Could be wrong tho, it's been known to happen. I hadn't even thought about the cloning issue til you brought it up!

Can somebody please explain to me what is the point in buying or growing Auto's as appose to regular plants ??
i can only think of reasons against them ?
Really , are there any pro's?
Imagine not being able to clone a raging Pheno type ? ,

because they are free with an order! Ok, what do I win? Best thing to think of besides they flower at about 2 weeks from seed and if you are starting from seed they will be done first for some smoke while the paid for seeds are in early phlower at the 8th week from seed. Id suggest em to somebody who can,t grow a weed or plant of any kind.

i just ordered some seeds from Canada and had some auto's for free ,
i sat there looking at them and thought to myself" what the hell am i meant to do with these "

The biggest advantage is if you live in a shitty growing climate where frost hits early and the weed cant fully flower. This way with autos the plants finish in time under good conditions. No race to beat the arrival of frost.

Lol autos are killer. Instead of buying seeds just grow a mother and clone her before she starts to flower.

Actually, I did some catch up reading on Ruderalis this afternoon, and it was quite enlightening. In fact here is an article that pretty much details the breeding history and the possibilities we can achieve with Ruderalis genetics. http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/3033.html Interesting indeed. I believe that we have a ways to go, but wecould very well get strains of Sats and Indicas with the full potency (or better by then) of the originals, with Ruderalis growth times and flowering times.
The advantage I can see after reading is that indoor grows will become more stealthy in an age when they can read our power consumption/usage patterns in real time by eliminating or altering our lighting schedules. Opens a bunch of possibilities if you think about it!

You wont be disappointed. I just think it's cool to try something different once in a while.
And I haven't found an auto yet that was no good.

indoors you could set up a sog using auto's just popping beans on the weekly, expensive if your buying them but you let one hermie on ya every now and again, and boom lifetime of SOG under whatever light cycle you feel like...other than that i have 2 auto strains goin now LA diva, and critical jack. They will finish up a few weeks before my other 6 and i will have something to smoke on while i trim or a way to make cash for the next cycle...id call those advantages, but hey to each thier own...PEACE

Thats a definite advantage without a doubt. Sometimes us old fuckers have to look beyond what we knew and re-examine shit periodically. The one and only time Ismoked ruderalis it was worthless to get high on, and THATS what I remember. My interest has been piqued again after an afternoon of re examining the facts. If I wake up...it's a good day. If I learn something that day...it's a great one.
