Can you grow on one side of the tent and dry on the other?

Gotta hide the smell, one carbon filter, one tent. Can't dry anywhere else, and I have heard of people wanting to section off their tent so that one side is dark for drying and the other side is lit and has a plants still growing, but I've never heard of anyone actually trying it and if it worked or not. Surely someone on RIU has tried it. How that work out for you? What problems did you encounter? And how did you solve them?

sure why not as long as you can keep the heat low and keep light from the drying buds.

Since I can't seem to find anyone who's tried it, I guess I'll be the first.

Light degrades THC, factors must be rite ex. (no light, lower humidity, and constant air flow, not direct), in the room you plan on drying for a proper dry, wherever that be. Humidity and air-flow will be a factor on how long to hang. Then cure...Never tried it, was gona until I researched further. ***

So do people who think of that usually decide against it because it would be really difficult to get the opposite sides of your tent to have that different of conditions?

It will mold. Dry in a closet if nothing else. Hang from coat hangers with space between and a small fan on the floor.

Lol my guest house doesn't have a closet. It's one room, one window, one door. I'm trying to figure out if I can rig something up. There is a king size bed in there, could I put it on a tray under the bed or something? Still doesn't solve smell issues.

If you have no other choice maybe use 6mil black and white plastic. I do not know what you are using for lights but maybe you could use cfl or something just enough to keep the plants alive without creating extra heat. Then when the dry is done switch it back. If this post or a variation shows up forgive me.
I tried to post and had a glitch

i think one of the biggest problems you're going to have is that any partition that keeps out the light is going to prevent venting the airspace. maybe if you put them in a paper bag inside the tent?

Ya man get a cardboard box inside your tent make sure it's taped up good so it's light proof just pop it up every now and then to vent I am guessing ur not drying lbs right

No, probably just a couple oz at a time. I get large paper bags from the grocery store that I could use but isn't the point of drying that they are supposed to be hanging? I might purchase a smaller tent and hook the tents up (via ducting) So that the carbon filter filter both. Probably put a fan in the ducting that connects the two tents for better airflow. What do you think?

Yea the brown paper bag possibly hanging the buds somehow inside of it to prevent mold, or somehow section off a spot inside, temporarily, for the few days you need to dry. Your temperature and humidity will be higher so that will affect the time of drying. I sometimes put em' on a flat screen also, (dries faster), but I prefer the hang... The longer the better with all the rite variables in line. Good luck AG93...:leaf:

***Awesome Idea I Think...Solves everything....

I might also note that it's will be hooked up in the order of:
Fan>Dry tent>duct/fan>grow tent>duct/fan>carbon filter. So that the cool air will go in the dry tent first.
