Whats up everyone
looking for some good answers as to what my issue may be. I have ak48 going and about 3 out of 5 of my plants are showing yellow on the tips of the leaves. They are almost 3 weeks old and were doing amazing up until about 2 or 3 days ago when I noticed the issue. I have them in fox farms ocean forest, have not gave any nutes yet, and water about every other day. The temp stays in the low 80s and at night is in the upper 60s. Humidity is lower then it should be usually in the 20s during day and 40s at night. I am wondering if they are asking for nutes? Or the other thing is the other night my timer on my fan messed up and went out with my 400 watt hps stil going, i didnt catch it for a few hours and my temp was in the low 100s! Could this be what did it? The yellowing only seems to appear on the new leafs. Please help me out here ppl this is my first time growing.

no that means they have to much nutes, so adding more will just make the problem worse, and stop watering evey other day. You have to wait untill your medium is completely dry before watering.

Too much nutes?? I havent added any nutes yet, did u not read what i put? And I understand ffof already has nutrients but I've never experienced any issues with it before.

They are in a small tent with a 400 watt hps so after two days the dirt is bone dry.

Do not let your plants get "bone dry"...

it's a slight nute burn... Perfect example of it really... now you'll know what it looks like in the future...

Run a little water through it get decent runoff, and it should outgrow it...

Completely dry? That doesn't make sense at all. I thought it if it's dry an inch down, give it more water?

Cool, thanks for the answer. I plan on switching to 12/12 on my 5th week, they are at their 3rd week in veg. now. Should I apply any nutes during the veg period or is the ffof enough this time?

Also being an indica strain I knew they would be short and bushy but there isn't much space between nodes at all for the leaves coming in. Should I raise my light to try and get them to stretch some??

If there burning from the nutes in soil then I wouldnt add any more to it. The plants saying to you there's more then enuff there. Let the plant tell you what it needs. Im at my 3rd week of flower and still only up to 1.1 ec. Less is more my friend. I wouldnt move light to make them stretch they will stretch when you flip to 12/12. Keep light close for max lumens.And with soil i water then wait till about 2inch below soil is dry no moist. Roots search for water when it's gets dryer so the more they search the bigger the roots the bigger the plant so yes make sure it's dry by sticking your finger in there. Also by weight of pot.Hope this helps

I use fox farm ocean forest in my grow as well, and have noticed that it is a bit on the hot side for some strains. When I plant seedlings I mix a 50/50 mix of ocean forest with coir to cut this problem down a bit. Also I do not add any nutes to the plants for at least six weeks in the veg cycle as they do not need it, plenty in the soils as it comes out of the bag. The only vegging plants I feed are my moms, as they are using up what is there and are in the pots much longer. The first taste of nutes that I give my plants is when I flip them to 12/12.
That said, When I start my babies, I start them in small pots, dixie cup size, in the 50/50 mix. When roots are well established I re-pot into slightly bigger pots, 4 ot 5 inch, with straight ocean forest. This reintroduces nutriants so I don't need to add any. When the roots again are filling the pot I replant into bigger or final size pots, usually 3 or 5 gal. Again this new soil gives them all the nutes they need so I don't see any use in adding more. After flipping them, and at the onset of stretching, usually 2 weeks into 12/12 I then start feeding them, as they are using up the nutes real fast at this point. For their first real feeding I use veg nutes, not flowering nutes, as they need the N for their growth spurt. When buds first start appearing I then switch to my flowering nutes.

The only thing you may need to add is some calmag or just a shot or two of epsom salts.

It is helpful, thanks a lot. And I haven't added any nutes as I knew ffof had plenty in.I was going to introduce grow big around week 5. I think on my next grow I will try ffof and light warrior mix? The only thing that was confusing me is why they didnt burn in the beginning? Only the new leaves are showing yellow tips after 3 weeks?
